Chapter 37 Our Marriage Is Fake

Jocelyn bathed her daughter and put her to bed that night. She didn't worry about Jeffrey at all because he could take care of himself very well.

She didn't leave the room until all her kids fell asleep.

After closing the door, she ran into Beatrice when she turned around. Jocelyn was taken aback and said, "Hi, Beatrice. You stay up too late."

"Yeah, I came to see you. Do you want to have a midnight snack? I can ask someone to prepare it."

Jocelyn shook her head and answered, "No, I'm full for dinner, and I'm not hungry now."

"OK."

Jocelyn was very grateful to Beatrice, since when she and Calvin got home tonight, she had asked someone to prepare the meals. And now she came to ask Jocelyn intimately if she wanted to eat a midnight snack.

Jocelyn began to think it was her blessing to meet such a great mother-in-law. She hadn't got her mother's love for a long time since her mother had died when she was young.

"Don't worry about us. Just go to bed! Good night."

After she finished, Jocelyn was about to go to the guestroom. At this moment, however, Beatrice called her back. "Honey, you seem to choose the wrong way. The master room is over there."

Jocelyn paused, beginning to realize that Beatrice had come to "supervise and inspect" her married life.

Calvin and she slept in different rooms last night. Now that Beatrice was staring at her, Jocelyn had to go to sleep with Calvin.

Turning her head, Jocelyn smiled, "Oh, yeah. I made a mistake. There are too many rooms and I fail to distinguish between them. Alright, I'll go to the master room first!"

She waved her hand to Beatrice and went straight to the master room.

Beatrice watched Jocelyn enter the bedroom with a smile before she felt relieved. A servant told her that her son went to the master room but left Jocelyn alone in the guestroom last night.

In her opinion, the married couple must sleep together.

Beatrice guessed that maybe the two were newly married and didn't have sex well. Moreover, Calvin knew little about sex and the two likely quarreled with each other due to this. Beatrice wanted to help them make up.

Jocelyn didn't intend to stay overnight in the master room. She planned to return to the guestroom after Beatrice went to her room.

About two minutes later, Jocelyn guessed Beatrice might have left, so she opened the door.

However, the woman was still standing near the door and looking at Jocelyn with a smile. Jocelyn smiled awkwardly, stuck out her tongue, and quickly closed the door.

It seemed that she couldn't sleep in the guestroom tonight. Thus, she had to go to the master room.

The sound of pattering water came from the bathroom. Jocelyn looked out and saw a tall figure reflected on a foggy glass wall.

Jocelyn could feel the handsome man's damn hormones again!

She worked to prevent herself from being tempted by his charm!

After showering, Calvin returned to the master room in a nightgown. Seeing Jocelyn sitting by the bed, he asked, "Why are you here? Didn't you say you're going to sleep over there tonight?"

Jocelyn made a gesture to explain, "Your mother is outside, so I can't make it."

Calvin finally understood that his mother might come to investigate his married life, probably because she was doubting their relationship.

If so, there was no need for Calvin to pretend to be polite. He walked over directly, sat down beside Jocelyn, sniffed the fragrance of her hair, and said intentionally, "In that case, why don't we act more realistically?"
