Super CEO Daddy And His Baby Triplets novel Chapter 48

Chapter 48 He Was More Annoyed

But Jocelyn could tell by Calvin's tone that he was hurt.

Jocelyn knew full well that she had to put her pride aside to get her hands on that $12 million.

She ran up to him and said in a flattering tone, as if to negotiate with him, "Come on, Mr. Austin! Let's talk it over! I swear I'll never lie to you again. I promise to be honest with you and to speak to you from the bottom of my heart in the future. If I lie, I will burn in hell forever."

It just so happened that a thunderstorm was rolling in at the time.

Instinctively, Jocelyn let out a scream. She was so terrified that she threw herself into his arms.

"One cannot lie, or one will soon meet karma." was the truth to her.

Calvin took a moment to look at the woman in his arms before looking out the window. "Can I still believe what you just said?" he sneered.

Because she was terrified of being struck by lightning, she realized she had no choice but tell the truth.

Jocelyn raised her head from his arms with an awkward smile. She admitted, "I'll be completely honest with you. In fact, I just want to get the 12 million dollars that our agreement stipulates. Now, as you can see, we are legally a couple because we have a marriage license. If you kick me out, I'll be a divorced woman with no money. That's not a good option for me."

Jocelyn paused after finishing her sentence to ensure there was no thunder.

"She wants to stay here not for my son, not for my mother, and even not for me. Obviously, she's in it for the $12 million reward. That doesn't make any sense!" He thought to himself.

Calvin became enraged once more after hearing her tell the truth.

Calvin became acutely aware of this truth: actors also enjoy acting in real life. She had no feelings for him and was only interested in his money.

He didn't see why he should reveal his true feelings for her when she was only interested in making a deal with him.

He reasoned that this marriage would be better off as a straight partnership.

Calvin restrained himself from throwing her out of his house from the window. He solemnly said, "Take your hands off of me and get out of my room now!"

"Why?" Jocelyn asked.

Calvin then took her hands off of him.

"I don't like sharing a room with anyone. You are welcome to use the guest bedroom for the night."

"But, your mom..."

Jocelyn meant to say that Beatrice always walked up and down the hall. If Jocelyn was discovered sleeping in the guest room, she would be asked to return to the main bedroom.

"You don't need to worry about my mother's opinion! Just mind your own business. And, don't you make any more excuses to approach me? I'm not interested in you at all!"

"What the hell? He's not going to get mad again, is he?" Jocelyn thought to herself.

Jocelyn was at a loss for what to do. She knew that telling the truth would enrage him, but she feared the karma resulting from lying.

She felt trapped in a quandary.

His flat-out telling her he wasn't interested in her made her feel like she'd been severely degraded.

"Right, then. Let's take a wager on whether or not you'll develop romantic feelings for me."

"No way! There's absolutely no way I'll fall in love with you." Calvin said immediately. Relationships were his least favorite thing, so he was fairly certain he wouldn't fall in love with her.

"You don't dare to bet against me, do you?" said Jocelyn. She didn't want to lose to men, so she wanted to fight for the dignity of women all over the world.

She decided to start by offering to bet with him.

"Calvin, don't be so sure of yourself! How do you know you won't fall in love with me? I'm warning you not to be attracted to me! Or I'll show you how much it hurts not to get the woman you want!" Jocelyn thought to herself.

"Do I dare? Let's bet!"

Calvin doubted he could be easily swayed by her beauty.
