Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 341

Chad only unbuttoned his shirt and headed for the shower after the voices at the door had died off.

The following day, Chad planned to visit the patient at nine o'clock in the morning, but ended up leaving at ten because he was waiting for Molly.

At nine o'clock, Coleen pointed at her just-awakened daughter and said to her son, "Go by yourself. She still needs a while to get ready. Look at her, she hasn't even washed her face, combed her hair, or changed her clothes. No point in waiting for her."

Chad stood in the living room, hands on hips, wordlessly urging Molly to get a move on with a poker face.

As they got into the car, her stomach started to rumble again.

Molly and Chad exchanged a glance. She said somewhat sheepishly, "Chad, I didn't expect there would be so many things to do before going out."

Chad replied, "If you had gotten up earlier, not only could we have left earlier, you could have had breakfast."

He drove off, paying no mind to Molly's grumbling stomach.

Molly reached for the water bottle in the car and was about to have a drink.

Chad, while keeping an eye on the road, caught her wrist with his right hand, "Put it down, the water is cold."

Molly said, "But I'm hungry."

Chad pulled up in front of a dessert shop, "Go buy whatever you want to eat."

Molly bolted out of the car as soon as the door was open.

In no time, she came strolling out of the store with a sandwich and a bottle of milk in hand.

But with a sandwich in one hand and milk in the other, she had no hands left to open the car door.

She cast a helpless glance at Chad, who was out of patience, but he got out of the car, opened the door for her, and helped her in.

He swore to himself that he would never take Molly out with him again if there was a next time.

If he hadn't been worried about her getting another invitation from some boy, Chad wouldn't have waited for her this morning.

By the time they arrived at the hospital, Molly had finished her breakfast. She opened the sun visor on the passenger seat and started touching up her makeup in the mirror before getting out of the car.

Chad glanced at his watch. Hmm, almost eleven.

He bit back his anger, wanting to explode but holding it in.

Finally, Molly, carrying a box of gifts, and Chad, locking the car, headed upstairs. Molly found an excuse, "Chad, I think our timing is just right. If we had arrived earlier, the doctor would still be doing rounds, and the nurses would be busy treating the children. We would have been in the way. And besides, we wouldn't have anywhere to go after the visit. Now's the perfect time, it's not lunchtime yet, and the doctors and nurses aren't busy. Bob and his wife are free too. We can visit the kid, wait a bit, and then you can take me for a big meal."

Chad looked at Molly's ingratiating face, biting back his anger. This was all his own doing. He shouldn't have called her out in the first place.

Chad asked, "Which restaurant do you want to go to for the big meal?"

"The new seafood buffet place. It's not expensive, just 100 bucks per person."

Chad was at a loss for words.

When they arrived at the hospital, they inquired about the child's room from the nurses and went to visit the child together.

On the way to the hospital, Chad told Molly, "Bob's son, Klein, was born just before Christmas. I've even covered for Bob at work when his child was about to be born."

Upon hearing this, Molly understood right away. She could remember whatever Chad mentioned.

The child was not even half a year old, and Chad took Molly to the ward.

Seeing their superior arrive, Bob immediately stood up, both surprised and delighted, "Captain, what brings you here?"

Chad and Molly put down the gifts. Molly glanced at the sleeping little baby. She wondered if her nephew would look like this when he was born.

Chad said, "I brought Molly to see the kid."

Molly walked over to Bob's wife. She lowered her voice, asking gently, "Ma'am, how is Klein doing?"

Bob's wife looked at her son on the bed, heartbroken, "He just had blood drawn this morning. He's still young, they need to find out what's wrong."

Molly went over, her hand lightly touching the child on the bed. Seeing the needle on the child's head, she felt as if her heart was aching.
