Her skin was soft and delicate, looking even more refreshing against her sky blue dress. In the midst of a blazing summer, her presence felt like a refreshing breeze that eased the stifling atmosphere and brought peace to one's heart. Even though she was only showing her back, she managed to attract quite a few glances. Some were itching to approach her but were afraid of disturbing the tranquility of the summer day.
Mia closed her eyes, contemplating, "What should I have for lunch? What should I do after eating? Where should I take a rest? Do I need to find my husband?" She was unaware that she had become a picture, a summer exclusive.
"Ah, life is full of tough decisions," she murmured to herself.
"Hello, are you here to study too?"
Mia heard someone greet her. She turned her head to see a tall boy who had suddenly appeared next to her. He was looking at her with a shy smile. Mia nodded. "What's up?"
The boy shyly scratched his head, avoiding direct eye contact with Mia. "Can we study together this afternoon?"
Mia looked at her own position, and then at the boy. "We're studying different things, so sitting together wouldn't help."
Mia was often oblivious to people hitting on her. But when it came to people hitting on her friends, she was more sensitive than anyone. She and Molly were birds of a feather.
"Oh, I mean, I wanted to..." Before he could finish his sentence, Leo rushed over.
Hansen and Molly were already asleep. Leo, who was preparing for an accounting exam, was still studying and hadn't fallen asleep. After noticing the commotion, he hurried over to fend off this potential rival for his uncle.
"Dude, pick a different target. She's my aunt, she's married, and she's even got a bun in the oven." After saying that, Leo pulled Mia around and pointed at her stomach. "Look, she's five months pregnant."
Mia was confuse. Was she hit on even though she was pregnant? Her loose clothing made her silhouette slim and didn't reveal her baby bump. She had only turned her head to talk to the boy, not her body. As it turned out, nobody knew that this woman, who embodied the coolness of summer, was actually a mom-to-be.
Mia turned around, her dress was slightly oversized, highlighting her slender limbs but not her belly. Seeing the disbelief on the boy's face, Mia finally got it. She patted her stomach through her dress, emphasizing her baby bump. "Look, I'm really pregnant. I'm about to have a baby."
Mia pointed to Hansen, who was sleeping on the table. "That's my father-in-law."
The boy's face and ears turned bright red. "Sorry."
He shyly walked away, and Mia, feeling slightly awkward, touched her nose and then looked at Leo. "How did you know I was being hit on?"
"Use your brain, we've been studying in the library all morning, and he suddenly comes over to you, blushing and wanting to sit with you. What does that mean?"
Mia said, "You have a point."
The door of the library opened, letting in a gust of hot wind. Then, an unusual figure walked in.
Andre, still in his morning work attire, appeared at the door. He was wearing a custom-made shirt, and the sleeves were rolled up due to the heat, revealing his wristwatch. His black suit pants remained crease-free even after sitting for a long time, and his shoes were polished. After a morning of meetings, he hurried to find his wife.
Andre registered at the librarian's desk, his wedding ring catching the light. After registration, he walked into the library. He walked past rows of bookshelves, and finally, he saw the girl in the sky blue dress standing by the window.
Andre appeared in his wife's line of sight with a smile. Mia was quietly chatting with Leo when she saw Andre, who had just appeared. She paused, her mouth curving into a soft smile.
"Honey." She didn't dare to shout loudly, so she just whispered. Then, she stepped over Leo and ran towards Andre.
