Mia asked petulantly, “What do you need me for? Won’t you see me when you get home tonight?”
When Andre attempted to hold his wife’s hand, Mia pulled away. Her hands folded behind her back. “I don’t want to hold hands with you.” She was angry, but she held back any harsh words.
Andre withdrew his hand and said, “Why did you leave without telling me?”
After work, Molly and her mother came out of the office building and spotted Leo, Andre, and Mia. Molly seemed surprised. “Am I so popular that they all came to pick me up?”
Coleen replied, “Maybe they need you for something. You should go back to the Cedillo family tonight.”
After watching her mother leave, Molly approached Leo, who gave her a meaningful look. “Let’s go.”
Molly asked, “What’s wrong with your eye?”
Leo rolled his eyes and stopped Molly from approaching Mia. He whispered, “The couple is having a disagreement. Let them figure it out. Let’s leave.”
This was the first time Molly had seen such a loving couple having a disagreement. She was excited. “No, I want to see who will back down first.”
Leo immediately blocked Molly. “Who do you want to see more, Chad or them?”
“I don’t want to bother Chad. He’s so busy.” Molly decided to observe Andre instead.
Leo added, “I heard at the police station today that some old men want to introduce Chad to a potential partner.”
Molly grew quiet. Her excitement was slowly fading before finally saying, “Take me to the police station!”
As they suspected, Chad was her priority.
In the car, Molly explained to her nephew, “I just want to see who wants to introduce a lady to my brother, and maybe see what she’s like.”
Leo scoffed internally. After all, he was in a humble position. He dared not scoff openly for fear of his aunt’s wrath.
Thus, Leo abandoned Mia. Mia pouted, watching the car drive away. She grumbled, “Leo is so disloyal!”
Andre watched the departing car as well, finding his nephew more likable. Then, he turned to his wife. “Wherever you want to go next, I’ll accompany you.”
“I don’t need you,” she replied.
“Mia.”
Mia retorted, “Then take me back to my parents’ home.”
Andre opened the car door and helped his wife in. He knew he owed her, so he was more attentive than usual.
Before Mia could reach for it, he had already buckled her seatbelt for her. He got in the car, and took one last look at his wife before starting the engine. Mia turned her face towards the window, looking at the scenery on the streets.
Andre later decided to drive her around a bit before taking her to the Majestic Dining Enclave. It had been a while since she had eaten at this restaurant.
Andre’s intentions were clear. He didn’t ask if she wanted to eat. He parked the car and asked, “Shall we have dinner before I take you home?”
If Mia didn’t want to eat, she would naturally refuse. When she unbuckled her seatbelt and got out of the car, Andre knew her answer.
