Naomi asked again, "Why are you so sure Mia doesn't want to be the mistress of the Cedillo family?"
"She was forced to marry Andre. Do you know why Mia fought with you that day? Everyone has their weaknesses, and Mia's weakness is her parents. My dad threatened her with her family to make her marry Andre. Why else would a young girl in her prime years marry Andre, a man she's never seen? She doesn't want to get married at all, so how could she care about being the mistress of the Cedillo family? It's just a meaningless title. It's because you care too much about your own dignity that you're being played by Jillian."
"Was she forced to marry Andre?" Naomi's eyes flickered as if she had suddenly understood everything.
After Bruce finished speaking, he lay back down, "Mia is young enough to be our daughter, and now she's Andre's wife. Think about it, would Mr. and Mrs. Irvin of the Irvin family let Mia get married? I also heard that the Irvin family has reduced many collaborations with other companies for Mia's sake, and only cooperate with old business partners. Why? It's to tell us that the Irvin family didn't marry off their daughter purely for honor. Naomi, we're not young anymore. You should have learned to think independently by now."
Naomi deflated, sitting dejectedly on the edge of the bed. Upon reflection, almost everything Jillian had said to her was to win her over and then to provoke her, making her hostile towards Mia.
Naomi also realized that Mia had always wanted to move out because she didn't want anything to do with the Cedillo family. How could someone like that have the desire to be the mistress of the Cedillo family?
She was wrong.
Naomi thought about this until midnight, not even sleeping when sun came up.
The next day, the breakfast table was unusually quiet.
As Hansen wiped his hands with a damp towel, he asked Andre, "Are you planning to leave today?"
"Yeah, I'll pack up after breakfast, then take Mia and leave."
Hansen asked, "Where will you be staying?"
"A newly purchased mansion, Thornhill Estate."
Hansen nodded, looking at Mia with a parental tone, "If you're not busy, come back and visit us with Andre."
"It seems like you're not too mad at me." Mia was in a good mood as she was about to leave, so she joked, "I'll come back regularly to specifically annoy you."
Hansen didn't get mad at Mia's words, he laughed, "You're brave."
That morning, Naomi didn't say a word.
After breakfast, as they were about to leave, a cool McLaren parked in the front of the Cedillo family's house. Then a servant ran in to report the good news, "Gentlemen, madam, Leo's back."
"My son is back." A smile crossed Naomi's face as she ran to the door to greet him.
Seeing the grand entrance, Mia guessed that the extravagant Mr. Leo of the Cedillo family must have returned.
Hansen said to Mia, "Leo was traveling abroad when you and Andre got married. You can take this opportunity to meet him."
Mia nodded, she was quite curious about what Naomi's son looked like.
Andre, however, said indifferently, "He's just a troublemaker, you don't have to meet him."
Mia shook her head, "I'd really like to meet him."
Suddenly, Leo's voice came from outside, "Mom, I brought you a box of face masks, enough for ten years. Dad, I bought you a box of cigarettes. Even if you smoke until your lungs turn black, you won't finish these. Where's grandpa?"
Under the morning sun, a brown-haired boy stood, with earrings, rings on his fingers, and a tattoo on his thumb.
Leo dressed like a small gangster, pointing to the several boxes on the ground and introducing what was inside each one.
His eyes were sharp, his facial features distinct, he was full of energy, and his skin was slightly tanned. When he smiled, his eyes charmingly curled up. He was the only grandson of the Cedillo family, constantly doted on by his parents and grandfather, exuding a rich and spoiled air.
