Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 55

Leo nodded, "I overheard it from my grandpa, but please, don't spill the beans. I only told you because you're his daughter-in-law."

Mia nodded back, "No worries, I won't blab this big deal to anyone."

They huddled together, whispering, with a guy standing behind them under the blazing sun, hands shoved in his pockets, watching them.

"...Mia, please don't spill to my family that you've beaten me three times."

"Chill, I won't make you lose face. Besides, if I tattled to your family, your mom would lose her cool."

Mia walked up to Leo, rising on her toes to pat his shoulder, "I never saw it coming that your uncle is Andre, I just knew you were the son of an official, didn't know you were also the son of a tycoon."

"You haven't told me why you married my uncle."

"Good question. I'd like to know why I married your uncle, too."

This absurd marriage, only Hansen knew the real reason. But he kept quiet.

A small cabin in the backyard caught Mia's attention, "Hey, see that cabin, have you ever been in there?"

"Sure have, my uncle had it built for me."

Mia, "...So, the doodles on the wall, did you do them?"

"Are you asking because you've been in there too?"

They both looked surprised.

"Yes."

They felt a bond instantly, like they found someone who shared their plight. Mia and Leo shook hands, "So, we have similar troubles."

"By the way, Mia, you're a newlywed, why did you go into that cabin?" Leo was curious.

He'd only be locked in there for unforgivable mistakes. Mia was a newlywed, why was she punished?

"You may not know, but your mom and I have had a lot of squabbles. We even had a catfight."

Leo, "...Thanks for not going all out on my mom."

"No need to thank me, I just didn't know she was your mom. I'm moving out this afternoon, won't have any more run-ins with your mom."

Leo asked curiously, "Why did you quarrel with my mom? I know my mom's character well, she cares about her reputation. She won't pick fights easily."

"It's a long story. I just figured out the crux of the problem last night."

Leo spotted his uncle standing in the sun. He couldn't believe it, rubbed his eyes and looked again, Indeed it was his uncle. "Mia, why is my uncle standing in the sun watching us?"

Mia turned and raised her hand to shield her eyes, squinting at her husband, she said, "Maybe he's sunbathing."

"Sounds legit."

Andre couldn't stand it anymore and walked towards them.

Seeing Andre approaching with a frown, despite the blazing summer, they both felt a chill. They both stood straight, like rookies waiting for a dressing-down from the drill sergeant.

Andre walked up to them, looking stern, and asked gruffly, "Didn't get enough of the sun while traveling, still want to sunbathe while you're home?"

"Uncle, you're sunbathing too."

Andre looked at Mia, "Watch yourself. He's your nephew."

Mia and Leo were speechless.

With that, Andre took Mia's hand and left the backyard. Mia stumbled as she was pulled, and she nearly fell. Andre picked her up, "You should watch your step."

"Got it…"
