In the comfort of his own company, Leo moved with a freedom others could only dream of. While everyone else stuck to their rigid office hours, Leo wandered in and out as he pleased, and no one dared to question him.

“I’m off to pick up Anya from university. Be back soon,” he announced casually, grabbing a folder with confidential meeting notes as he headed to Havenbrook University.

Anya had just finished her classes and, knowing Leo was busy with meetings, didn’t expect him to pick her up. She was about to hail a cab when she heard a familiar honk. Turning around, her face lit up at the sight of Leo’s car. She ran towards him, her voice full of excitement, “Leo!”

Opening the passenger door, she found it cluttered with documents. Without a second thought, she scooped up the files and settled into the seat as if it were her own.

Leo chuckled as he started the car. “I thought you’d be polite and sit in the back with all these files here.”

“The files can go in the back. This spot is mine,” Anya shot back without hesitation.

Amused by her assertiveness, Leo complimented, “Not bad, you certainly know your place.”

He then asked, “Going back to check on sick Henry, or heading to the office with me?”

Faced with choosing between the adorable little one or spending time with Leo at work, Anya hesitated for all of three seconds before decisively choosing Leo. “Would I be in the way at the office?”

“Not at all, but I might have to work late.”

“Then I’ll stay with you. After all, the little one has plenty of people showering him with love. My affection wouldn’t make much difference,” Anya joked, her self-awareness shining through.

As they drove, Leo mused, “Yeah, poor me with no one to love but Anya, right?” He glanced over at her.

Anya, her cheeks flushing, mumbled, “Well... Everyone loves you, not just me.”
