Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 789

During the wait, an employee handed her a cup of coffee.

Molly accepted it with a smile, "Thanks a bunch."

She then glanced over at the young woman trying on the outfit, feeling it just wasn't right.

"Let's pass on this one." After the woman changed back, it was clear she wasn't interested either.

The salesperson quickly asked, "Could you share why it didn't appeal to you?"

"Hmm... just not quite satisfied."

The salesperson shot Molly a glance, and she nodded slightly, prompting the salesperson to show other options.

That afternoon, Molly spent about two hours in the store. As foot traffic picked up, only four items were sold, despite more than ten people trying them on.

After work, Chad called Molly, "Need a lift home?"

Molly replied, "I'm still out. You go pick up Mom. I took the car, and she doesn't have a ride."

"Mom's got a lift."

They chatted briefly before Chad reminded her, "Come home early."

After hanging up, Molly continued to monitor the store until closing, watching the crowd ebb and flow.

As the store emptied out, Molly told the manager, "Pack one of each size of the new blouses for me. Everyone can head home; it's getting late. Be safe on your way back."

Coleen had called her daughter several times, but in the end, it was her husband who picked her up. "Our son said you took the car, so I finally got a chance to pick you up from work. It's been ages."

Coleen smiled happily, "Then you should thank our daughter for giving you this chance."

By the time Molly got home, dinner was over, and she wasn't there.

It wasn't until ten at night that Molly finally walked through the door.

The streets were quiet, and she drove home slowly.

Chad asked, "Why so late?"

Molly asked, "How's Mom?"

"She's already in bed."

Molly nodded, realizing it was too late to disturb her mother. Nothing she needed to report tonight or tomorrow would change anything, so there was no point worrying her mom before bed.

Grandma Aubree handed her granddaughter a glass of warm milk, "Did you have dinner?"

"I did, thanks, Grandma. I'm skipping our TV session tonight. You should get to bed early," Molly said playfully.

Grandma Aubree waved her off, "No way, I was exhausted because you insisted we binge-watch last night. I nearly overslept today."

Chad gave his wife a knowing look, pulling her back to their bedroom. "Staying up past midnight to avoid me?"

"Playing dumb, huh?" Molly said, setting her clothes on the sofa. "I was just bridging the date gap, shifting from an even to an odd date. I picked that up from you."

Chad was surprised at how well she'd mastered a tactic he hadn't taught her.

Noticing her shopping bags, Officer Chad asked, "Went shopping for clothes?"

"I don't shop." Molly said, then started unzipping her dress in front of him, "Go lock the front door."

Officer Chad: "..."
