Mia's stomach growled as she headed downstairs for a glass of water, realizing just how hungry she was.
The chef, aware that Mrs. Andre hadn't had dinner, was waiting for her. "Mrs. Andre, no need to be upset. Mr. Andre made sure we kept dinner ready for you tonight. Plus, we didn't give away all the ice cream; half of it is yours."
Mia was surprised. "Really?"
After a quick visit to the kitchen, Mia, brimming with excitement, dashed up the stairs two at a time. She burst into the bedroom and found her husband Andre reading in bed. With a joyful leap, she landed on him, pinning him down with a grin.
"Honey, I love you so much!" she exclaimed, snatching Andre's book and showering him with a flurry of kisses.
Andre's annoyance vanished instantly. "Why do you love me? Marrying a bossy guy like me."
"Being with someone like you is a blessing," she said sweetly, her words dripping with affection as she kissed him again.
Earlier, she'd been annoyed at how quickly he could change moods. But now, she was putting on her own little show.
"Not interested in going out with me? Who would you rather go with?" Andre teased.
"I only want to go with you, honey. Without you, I feel lost. Come with me, please?" Mia coaxed, her talent for persuasion unmatched. "I've thought it over, and I admit I was wrong. Let's have some fun together. You've punished me enough already."
Andre wrapped his arms around her waist. "Are you hungry?"
"Starving."
He lifted her up. "Let's go eat. I figured you'd get hungry tonight."
At midnight, they found themselves in the dining room, Mia eating while Andre kept her company.
"You know, honey, you've got plenty of flaws," Mia remarked as Andre was about to clear the table.
"But love makes me overlook them, even love you more," she added, bringing a satisfied smile to Andre's face.
"So, honey, I know I have my flaws too, but since you love me, you'll overlook mine just like I do with yours, right?"
After all that talk, it boiled down to this point.
Andre chuckled, "If I ask you to change, does that mean I don't love you?"
"You can't expect me to change overnight. I only dare to be a bit cheeky because I know you love me," she said.
Andre teased, "Just like your son," both of them chatting away while eating, not concerned about hiccups.
Later that night, Andre was feeding their son, who had endless chatter.
"Honey, let's go out somewhere. I've picked the place," Mia suggested.
Andre replied, "You already planned it with Molly, leaving us guys out."
"How did you know? Did Molly spill the beans?" Past experiences had made the trio wary of each other.
Mia's first suspicion was her best friend, but after dinner, she thought it over. "Wait, why would Molly spill the beans? It wouldn't benefit her. She doesn't like going out with her husband either, and she's still mad about the water park incident."
Lying in Andre’s arms late into the night, Mia wondered aloud, "Was it Chad who told you?"
Andre just nodded.
Without hesitation, Mia texted her friend, "Your hubby told mine about our weekend plans without them."
