Jade was taken aback, her eyes wide with disbelief. Wait, what? Chad had a crush on her all those years ago?
Had Chad been interested in her even back then? Was she really that irresistible? Molly couldn’t help but feel a little smug about her undeniable allure.
Chad admitted, “Back when I realized I liked you, I rushed into a relationship just to try and fix my messed-up feelings for you. It was probably the most impulsive thing I ever did, and when it didn’t work out, we broke up. I even tried to keep my distance from you. Then, when you started hanging out with Leo, it drove me nuts. And, well, you know the rest.”
There was that time when they were out shopping, and Chad caught her, dragged her away, and gave her a stern talking-to, almost causing a rift between her and Leo.
And then later, when she hit it off with Donnie. Poor Donnie took quite a few hits from Chad. Turns out Chad was into her even back then.
Every time she had a suitor, Chad would dig up dirt on them. He practically stopped short of saying, “Their family plot has bad Feng Shui, not fit for marriage.”
He even shared all these tragic marriage stories... It was all part of his plan!
He cut off all her other suitors, leaving only a “Chad” flower on her romantic branch.
Chad was the master of cunning and strategy.
He had been plotting from the get-go.
After hearing the whole story, Molly quipped, “Chad, you’re kind of a psycho~”
Officer Chad was at a loss for words. He wished he could just zip Molly’s lips!
After the explanation, Molly changed into her pajamas and went to bed.
Chad followed her out.
“Now that the misunderstanding’s cleared up, can we pick up where we left off last night? I’ll let you keep one ‘life’!” Chad emphasized the word “life.”
Molly rolled her eyes and tossed a pillow at him, “Go sleep outside.”
Chad caught the pillow, “Didn’t we just clear things up?”
Molly knew she had the upper hand. After all her overthinking lately, she wasn’t going to let Chad off the hook that easily.
“Chad, according to our original deal, odd days are mine and even days are yours. Since you kept this from me for so long, I won’t make any crazy demands. Let’s sleep in separate rooms. However long you kept me in the dark, that’s how many nights we’ll be apart. If you kept it from me for fifteen days, we’ll be apart for thirty nights. Since even days are yours, and odd days are mine. If this month has 31 days, then we’ll be apart for 31 nights, since the 31st is an odd number~”
Officer Chad put his hands on his hips, “Molly, hear me out.”
“I’m not interested, I don’t have the patience.” Molly made sure to say everything she wanted, leaving no room for Chad to speak.
Chad approached the bed, “You want kids, but we can’t make that happen if we’re in separate rooms.”
“Oh, changed my mind.” Molly teased like a mischievous sprite, “Having kids was just to ensure your legacy with the Byrne family.”
This time, Officer Chad was the one left speechless.
Molly gave Chad an innocent smile, “So, Chad, take care of yourself and your heart. We Cedillos are possessive; a lover’s body and soul must belong only to us. Anyone who dares not comply will face the consequences I mentioned.” Molly even gave a deliberate glance at Chad’s lower half.
Chad pleaded, “Molly, this was my bad.” He paused for a moment, trying to defend himself, “Confession might earn me a lighter sentence, just punish me for two days.”
Molly joyfully shook her head, “The judge might be lenient, but Judge Molly is the toughest there is, sentence remains.”
Chad: “……”
