Leo: "You really can't keep taking time off. If you do, you'll waste the registration fee. Making money's tough right now, so please don't waste it. You've been out all afternoon; shouldn't you be heading back? Aren't you supposed to look after your mom? If you don't listen, I'll come over and bring you to Havenbrook myself."
Anya felt a bit scolded and replied, "Alright then. Let's grab dinner together, and I'll head home."
Only then did Leo feel at ease. "Remember to bring an umbrella. It’s supposed to rain at 7."
"But I didn’t bring one~"
Leo: "Then I'll get you a cab!"
One way or another, Anya had to go home.
After hanging up, Anya vented to her high school friends in secret, "My Chad insists I go home to study computer science, and he's gonna teach me online tonight. No choice, let's head home after dinner."
Her friends, knowing about her new relationship, teased, "All day, it's Chad this, Chad that. What's this guy even look like? You're so into Mr. Chad."
Anya blurted out, "Chad's amazing. He can fix any computer issue I have. If you've got a problem with your computer, I can ask Chad to help. Plus, he’s studying for his master's."
She couldn't help but brag about Leo, even offering his help.
Her friend laughed, "Look at you, all proud. Let’s see if he gets into grad school first. Don’t be fooled; some guys pretend to be something they're not, just to win over a rich girl."
Anya frowned, "That's not it. I went after Chad myself. And I’m even staying at his place; his family treats me so well."
"You're too naive and well-off. So many people are after you, trying to win you over."
Anya replied, "But in the Cedillo family, Leo’s status is even more sought after than mine."
Her friend was stunned: "Wait, who's Chad??"
"Leo, Uncle Andre, Dad Bruce."
Her friend was floored, "I'm sorry... I was too shallow. Anya, I wish you happiness, and may you and your Chad walk down the aisle soon."
Anya smiled warmly. "Thank you."
After dinner, just as predicted, the sky turned gray and it started to rain.
As Anya stepped out of the mall, she got a call, "Hey, is this your ride?"
Anya: "..." Chad, so careless when it mattered, and meticulous when it didn’t.
"Xinxin, Chad got me a cab. Come, let’s share. It's hard to get one now with the traffic."
Anya’s friend agreed. While everyone else was waiting in line, they were already in the car, "Anya, I must meet your boyfriend someday. He's so thoughtful."
Anya beamed with pride.
Midway, she called Leo to change the destination to drop off her friend first, and then head to her place.
After arriving home, Anya hugged her mom before rushing upstairs to video call Leo.
He had just taken a shower and was drying his hair. "What'd you have for dinner?"
"Baked fish~ It was delicious. What about you, Chad?"
Leo said, "My delivery just got here."
Anya always felt bad hearing Leo order takeout.
But then Leo instructed her to start her computer lessons, and she felt less guilty.
Soon, Leo's food arrived.
He ate while tutoring Anya over video. After their half-hour study session, Leo resumed his own studies.
Opening his books, Leo suddenly remembered his manager’s invitation when leaving work, "Leo, ready to head out? Join us for dinner; there’ll be many executives. You’re young; it’s good to meet them."
Leo: "I’ve got plans."
Vincent, slightly embarrassed by the direct refusal, said, "What’s so important? If you can, you should join us. Young man, you need to prioritize."
Leo thought about the day the manager saw Mia and Molly, and replied, "My aunt and my uncle are visiting me tonight."
