Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 881

Anya always made sure to bring either one of her bags or her house keys whenever she popped by.

Leo handed his phone to Anya, saying, “Go ahead and order us some takeout. I’m jumping in the shower. Once you’ve had your fill, come sit with me while you study.”

Anya cut straight to the chase, “Chad, I already know all this stuff. You just wanted me over because it’s been ages since we last hung out. Admit it, you miss me and don’t want to be alone.”

Leo chuckled, “Ms. Anya, you might want to aim a little higher. Your boyfriend’s a tech genius, and you’re settling for a basic computer course?”

Anya grinned, “Hey, as long as one person in the family is a superstar, we’re good. If an uncle’s a big shot, his wife can kick back a little. In our case, let me handle the pressure while you binge on your shows, sound fair?”

She stuck her tongue out, and Leo pinched her cheek playfully, “Just order the food.”

Anya protested, “Takeout’s not the healthiest, Chad. There’s a supermarket downstairs, and we’ve got a perfectly good kitchen here. Why not come with me to the store, and I’ll whip up something special for you?”

Having grown up around his uncles, Leo had always thought girls shouldn’t be confined to the kitchen, “No way, just order. If you’re worried about it, I’ll take you to a nice restaurant tomorrow.”

Anya knew his reservations all too well, “Chad, your uncle doesn’t let your aunt in the kitchen because she might burn the house down, and your other uncle’s worried about his wife setting the place on fire. But I’m not like that. I love cooking. Come on, skip the shower for now and let’s hit the supermarket. I want to shop and cook for you. Please?”

Leo, not thrilled about the heat outside, was caught off guard when Anya went to his closet and pulled out an all-weather umbrella.

“When did you stash this here?” he asked, surprised.

Anya knew his place better than he did.

She covered her mouth with a laugh, “I had a feeling it might rain, so I got one just in case. Come on, Chad, if you don’t come with me, I won’t hang out with you!”

With a resigned smile, Leo grabbed his keys, “Alright, let’s do this.”

Before long, Leo was trailing behind Anya to the supermarket downstairs.

Even though the store wasn’t big, it had everything they needed.

Anya clung to Leo’s arm cheerfully while he pushed the cart, and the experience was completely different from his usual solo shopping trips. Typically, Leo was in and out, grabbing what he needed. But with Anya, it was more, “Let’s grab some toilet paper; we’re almost out.”

Anya pointed out a better deal, avoiding the pricey brand, “Look, this one’s on sale, it’s four or five bucks cheaper.”

She tossed the bargain toilet paper, some tissues, and wet wipes into the cart.

“Why do I need wet wipes? It’s not like I’m a messy eater,” Leo wondered aloud, thinking of his chubby buddy who always used them for everything.

Anya nudged him, “Chad, Henry’s got a name, you know.”

Feeling a twinge of jealousy, Leo teased, “So, did you give that little cutie a kiss today?”

Anya sighed, “I’ve been back for two days, and my aunt and I searched everywhere but couldn’t find a trace of the little guy. Later, my aunt called my uncle...”

Mia called her husband, “Hey hon, if I wake up and our kid’s gone, what do we do?”

Andre held the phone near their baby, “Son, call out to your mom; she thinks you’re missing.”

The baby babbled, “Mama, ya ya ya~”
