In his dad's arms, the little chubby boy wasn't exactly thrilled.
Leo kept asking, "So, what major are you studying?"
Mia replied, "Law."
"What?! Law?!" Leo was taken aback. He glanced over at the police station behind Mia, then back at her. "That's a bit ironic, don't you think?"
"Mia, it's like you got your head stuck in a door. How did you end up picking that major?" Leo teased.
Mia looked a bit lost, "It wasn't really my choice. Basically, everyone except me and my son—my husband, my parents, even Henry—pushed me towards law. They said it's easy and relaxing, gives you freedom, status, and let's not forget, it pays really well."
Leo suddenly got all worked up, "Wait, they ganged up on you..."
"Cough, cough," Andre, holding his son, interrupted. Little Henry, like a tiny kitten, snuggled deeper into his dad's embrace, looking all forlorn.
Leo caught a glimpse of his uncle's silhouette in the distance and realized what was up. Feeling a bit sheepish, he rubbed his nose, "Well, they aren't wrong. It is pretty straightforward, much easier than my major. Law's the easiest to get through."
Hearing Leo's words, Mia felt more confident, "See, I'll just cruise through it."
Andre finally looked a bit more satisfied with his nephew. Holding his adorable, chubby son, he turned and warmly reminded Anya, "Take it slow on the way back."
With that, he grabbed his young wife's arm and, with his kid in one hand, said, "Molly, hop in the car. We're heading to the hospital."
"Oh," Molly said, sounding a little down.
Leo knew that his uncle's reminder was also aimed at him, and just thinking about it could keep him smiling for days. He wrapped an arm around Anya's shoulders, "Alright, let's head out too, babe."
Anya asked innocently, "Chad, who’s this Henry Auntie mentioned? Did they get a puppy or something? That little one must be over the moon. What if he never wants to go back to the Cedillo family? Does that mean I won't get to hold him anymore?"
Leo glanced at the fading figures in the distance, "Uh, Anya, 'Henry' is a person."
"Ah?" It took Anya a second to catch on, then she said confidently, "Oh, it's Cooper!"
Leo nodded.
Anya was taken to Leo's rented place, where she animatedly recounted the day's events to her boyfriend. Leo, wanting to comfort her, handed her a big bag of snacks and drinks, telling her to munch while she talked.
Leo figured his girlfriend had been startled and needed some TLC.
Meanwhile, without a comparison, there’s no harm.
Mia was whisked off to the hospital, "Honey, why do I need an X-ray for my hand?"
Andre, still holding their child, sternly replied, "For hitting someone; you might’ve hurt your bone."
Plus, she’d had tendonitis before. In the end, Andre insisted on a full check-up for Mia.
Molly, under Andre’s stern gaze, was bustling around the OB-GYN department, not daring to pause for even a moment, like stopping would leave her completely lost.
Until Chad, looking worn, finally arrived at the hospital. He rushed to the OB-GYN department and saw a familiar figure, "Molly."
"Wah, Chad." Molly burst into tears, running straight into Chad’s arms.
She'd never felt so wronged before, and she cried her heart out.
Chad embraced his wife, "I'm back."
On his way, Chad had already learned about what had happened, breaking into a cold sweat.
Andre handed Chad the test results, "Molly’s fine."
Molly, still teary-eyed, said, "Mia got hurt protecting me."
