Tangled in his Obsession novel Chapter 121

Cooper was taken aback by such a straightforward response. He took a moment before he managed to say, "From love to hate, what happened?"

"It's a very cliche story. An innocent girl deceived by a bad boy, happens all the time." Seraphina shrugged. She even managed a laugh as she recalled the past, "Ah, my girlhood years, such a cringe fest."

Observing Seraphina, Cooper didn't think she was troubled by her past and asked, "And then?"

"Then, I moved on with my life, almost forgetting about him and the past." Seraphina said, "But he suddenly remembered me. He reached the marriageable age, needed a wife who'd obey him. He had a son who needed a kind stepmother. His grandfather's health deteriorated, hoping to see him married off… under these circumstances, he remembered the gentle, easily manipulated me from the past. So, he secretly handed me a case, tricked me back to Sunburst City so he could control me."

Resting her chin on her hand, she looked at Cooper with a calm and clear gaze, "Tell me, should I hate a man like that?"

Cooper listened but remained silent.

Among the crowd, Leandro stood out, looking majestic and dazzling.

Cooper suddenly thought of Peterson Miller.

When he first met Seraphina, she already had a bunch of suitors. Peterson was one of them, a handsome heir from a prestigious family. Even though Cooper had been living in seclusion after his car accident, he'd heard that Peterson eventually won Seraphina over and became her boyfriend.

In his eyes, both Leandro and Peterson were luckier than him by a thousand miles.

But, do the luckiest people take things for granted?

Seraphina seemed to read his mind. She looked down at her hands and feet, sighed and said, "Maybe I'm that kind of girl, only attracting bad boys."

Hearing this, Cooper felt like something heavy hit him hard, leaving him speechless for a long time.

By the time they returned indoors, Leandro had already left.

After the party, as usual, Cooper drove Seraphina home first.

Because she spent the whole evening standing beside him, she had to chat with many people who came to greet him and ended up drinking quite a lot.

"You've had too much to drink tonight." Cooper said, "I'll have someone prepare some strong tea to sober you up, and it will be sent over later."

Seraphina turned to look at him, her eyes clear, "Do I look drunk to you?"

"It's always good to be careful anyway."Said Cooper.

Seraphina laughed, "Alright, I'll take your advice."

She then got out of the car, turned around and said, "I'm heading up. You've had a long night too, go home and get some rest."

Cooper nodded and watched her go upstairs, not instructing his driver to leave.

Twenty minutes later, another driver from the Adams family brought the tea he'd ordered.

Cooper had the driver prepare his wheelchair, then got out of the car, planning to personally deliver the tea upstairs.

Just then, a black car suddenly drove up, stopping next to Cooper's car. Its headlights were blinding.

Cooper raised his hand to shield his eyes. Against the light, he saw a tall figure get out from the back seat of the car.

Cooper's breath hitched.

Once the car's lights went out, Cooper could see who it was. It was the man he expected.

Their eyes met. Leandro gave him a calm glance, a nod as a greeting, and was about to walk past Cooper.
