Henry tutted, looking at Raymond without giving in. "I f I remember correctly, you should be Scarlett's ex-husband, right?"
"Ex-husband" sounded sarcastic.
Yet as if he didn't hear the sarcasm in Henry's voice, Raymond asked calmly, "Even so, can't I like Scarlett?"
This was the second time tonight that Raymond directly admitted that he liked Scarlett. If he had only said once, they could translate that as appreciation.
However, Raymond repeated it. Everyone present realized that he loved Scarlett.
Henry was provoked by Raymond. "Yes, but since you're her ex-husband, you should understand that you and Scarlett are not suitable for each other.
Scarlett divorced you, so I'm sure she doesn't care if you like her.”
Henry was indeed suave with women. He hit the nail o n the head, giving Raymond a blow.
Raymond didn't know what to say, looking at Scarlett.
From the beginning, she stood beside Henry, looking indifferent, as if she had nothing to do with his declarations of love.
She was like an outsider watching him and Henry argue.
Scarlett's reaction hurt Raymond. He couldn't help thinking of what she said that day and panicked.
He didn't mean to embarrass her in front of so many people, he just... couldn't suppress his feelings for her.
However, Raymond knew that Scarlett probably wouldn't care why he did that. She only knew that he embarrassed her and got her in trouble again.
Thinking of this, Raymond felt depressed.
He gave Scarlett a deep look. "Mr. Anderson, you're right. I'm carrying a torch for her."
Raymond looked at Scarlett. "I'm sorry."
