Scarlett almost choked and glanced up at him. "What d o you want me to tell her, Mr. Shaw?"
Raymond found that Scarlett liked to call him Mr. Shaw when she was angry and Raymond when she was in a good mood.
He looked at her and his thin lips hooked slightly. " The truth."
"Oh, then I'm sorry."
Scarlett grunted. "I told Alexis that you left something at my place and came over to get it."
"If I had been there to get something, would I have been disheveled?"
Hearing his words, Scarlett was stunned, remembering that he took off his tie and loosened his collar at that time. She suddenly felt that Raymond was crafty.
She put down the glass with a laugh. "I said I got annoyed and beat you up."
Raymond naturally didn't believe it, but he remembered what Scarlett said and knew he had no right to decide how Scarlett explained it to Alexis.
No matter what Scarlett said to her friend, Scarlett
and he could only claim that they were ordinary friends.
Raymond suddenly felt a bit depressed, so he changed the subject. "What do you want to eat?"
Scarlett took the menu. "Let me have a look."
She looked down and leafed through the menu.
Scarlett had many little foibles. For example, she didn't like a lot of food.
She looked at the menu for a while and cautiously ordered two signature dishes.
"You can order two more."
Scarlett knew what Raymond liked to eat, but she didn't order for him.
After the divorce, she didn't just live in hatred. Sometimes she thought about why the marriage between Raymond and her would fail after those three years.
After thinking it over, she found that it was mainly Raymond's fault and partly hers.
To love oneself was the beginning of a lifelong romance.
If one didn't even love herself, she would never be loved by others.
In those three years, she was abject and thought that i f she was patient and tolerant, Raymond would accept her.
Yet she forgot that before she married Raymond, she was just a stranger to him.
