Looking at the two women in front of her, Scarlett was just about to speak when Jessie hurried out from behind her and flared, "Mia, what nonsense is this?!"
Mia glanced at Jessie. "Jessie, I'm not making this up. Have you forgotten that Joan and I both graduated from Juanton University? Scarlett used to be something of a celebrity in college. She never lived in the dorm, and every day she had a luxury car taking her to and from school. At first we were quite confused. Afterward someone kicked up a stink at the campus and then we knew that Scarlett was a home -wrecker!"
After saying that, Mia covered her mouth and chuckled, "But Scarlett has such a channing face. It'd indeed be a shame if she were unwilling to make money with it!"
Jessie snapped, "Bah! You seriously expect me to believe that when you have no proof at all?"
Mia snorted, "You don’t believe me? Why don't you search her name on the forum of Juanton University and see what you'll find?"
Jessie frowned and turned to look at Scarlett, as if uncertain as to which one of them she should believe.
Viviana next to them was just about to say something when Scarlett gave Viviana's hand a little squeeze with a smile and, looking at the two women before her, asked unhurriedly, "I'm sorry, but who are you guys?"
Mia's face stiffened momentarily. "I'm Mia Woodall, an art major. We have the same Alma Mater and graduated in the same year. We once dined together. You don't remember?"
"Really? I'm sorry. I never have much regard for insignificant people."
With that Scarlett shifted her gaze to Joan standing beside Mia. "What about you? Do we know each other?"
"...Not really."
After hearing Joan's reply, Scarlett giggled, "That's weird. Neither Ms. Woodall nor Ms. Zouch is close to me. How come you guys sound like you know everything about me?"
Scarlett paused, lifted her eyebrows and looked at Mia and Joan with a half-smile." So in your eyes, college girls who don't live in the dorm and go to school in a luxury car are all home-wreckers.
"Everybody knows I'm pretty. You two don't have to make up so many stories to compliment me on my good looks."
Scarlett tossed a bland glance at Jessie before her eyes returned to Mia and Joan." But your stories are rather unimpressive. They're riddled with flaws, illogical and boring."
