Mrs. Tucker felt embarrassed. She wiped her eyes and said, "Ms. Reed, please forgive me. I'm old and wordy."
Linley said, "Mom."
Mrs. Tucker said, "I will get out of your hair and go to cook lunch. Ms. Reed, would you like to have lunch with us?"
Scarlett looked up at Mrs. Tucker and said with a smile, "I would love to."
Hearing that, Mrs. Tucker became happy like a kid and said, "Make yourself at home.
I will go to cook lunch."
Mrs. Tucker went to the kitchen and started to cut vegetables soon.
Linley said, "Scarlett, you're as beautiful as before."
Scarlett compressed her lips and said," You're as cute as before."
Although they were classmates, they were not on intimate terms with each other. If Linley hadn't told Scarlett that Darnell planned to hurt her, Scarlett wouldn't have remembered what Linley looked like after so many years.
The atmosphere became frigid.
After graduation, Linley went hometown and worked in a local bank. She lived a mundane life those two years.
But she married the wrong man later. What was worse, some people liked talking about gossip. She had never forgotten what had happened that year and thus she suffered from severe depression.
Scarlett thought about it and said, "I come here to see you suddenly because I need your help.”
Linley said, "Scarlett, I'm sorry. I can't help you in such a condition."
Scarlett looked at her and smiled faintly," Believe yourself. You once entered the cartoon contest in the university and came second.”
Being a cartoonist was Linley's dream all the time, but her dream had been ruined by reality already. Even her life had been ruined, let alone her dream.
Noticing that Linley kept silent, Scarlett said with a smile, "I don't know if you have paid attention to my news. I have an entertainment company. Sometimes I will invest in some copyrights. I have invested a novel named Lost Youth with a friend this year."
