"I see."
Scarlett was more at ease than Alexis and Raymond were. She was just thinking that this afternoon's meeting might have to be put off until tomorrow.
She thought of these things and then felt a little discontent.
'Mr. Livesey can kidnap me at any time. Why did he do it today? Can’t he do it tomorrow? I'm free all day tomorrow.'
While she was in a daze, the door was pushed open and the bodyguard, who had said he would prepare her lunch, came in with the food.
The smell of food made Scarlett feel
hungry, too. She got up and went to the bathroom to wash her hands. She came out and watched the bodyguard helping her put the food on the table.
"Thank you."
The bodyguard took one look at Scarlett and thought she didn't look like to be kidnapped by him to be here, but rather like she'd come here on a holiday.
It was already past three o'clock in the afternoon. Scarlett had been starving for more than two hours, and her stomach was a little sick.
But the bodyguard was kind enough to give her pizzas and hamburgers to choose which one to eat.
After her belated lunch, Scarlett went to the bookshelf next to her, picked up a book, and sat down in a chair to read.
Julie came in, saw this scene and smirked, "Ms. Reed, you really know how to enjoy yourself."
Scarlett didn't look at her, "Isn't that what you want to see, Ms. Woods?"
She didn't want to see any of this.
What she wanted to see was Scarlett begging her on Scarlett's knees in hysterics and panic, not Scarlett calmly reading a book here.
Julie blushed with anger, "I hope you're still happy after tonight."
