Ryker had been working with Raymond's grandfather for decades. He didn't learn how to run the business well but was capable of staying calm in an emergency.
No matter what the policemen said, patient persuasion or harsh warnings, he kept his mouth shut.
Finally, both the policemen and Ryker lost patience. Ryker gritted his teeth and said," I want to see Raymond. After I see him, I'll tell the whole story.”
The two policemen glanced at each other, and then one of them got up and went out.
"Is Raymond Shaw still here?"
Raymond and Scarlett had just finished giving their statements. They were about to go back home. Hearing the officer call for Raymond, Scarlett looked at Raymond and answered, "We're still here."
Hearing Scarlett's answer, the police officer approached them. "Mr. Shaw, Ryker wants to see you. He will only confess after he sees you. Would you like to see him?"
It didn’t really matter if Ryker confessed or not. They had enough evidence, Ryker couldn't get away from it. Even if he kept his mouth shut, the judge would conclude the suspect was not cooperating with the investigation. Maybe the judge would give him a more serious sentence.
But Raymond agreed to see him. He wanted to see what Ryker was going to say.
"Okay."
"Then I'll wait for you outside." Scarlett let go of his hand and walked outside with her phone.
Raymond watched Scarlett walk out. Until Scarlett was out of the police station, he turned to the officer. "Please lead the way."
The officer nodded his head, "This way."
Seeing Raymond, Ryker's face changed color instantly. "I need to speak to him alone.”
"That's not allowed. We're already making an exception by letting you see Mr. Shaw. Ryker, don't get too far!"
The two officers rejected Ryker's request in a cold voice, but they got up and stepped aside.
The interrogation room was small. They could hear Ryker and Raymond's conversation clearly.
Ryker probably knew he was finished. He was straightforward, "I've been working on the plan for almost two months. How did you find out about it?"
