"As you said, Scarlett has run Tenton so well all by herself. That's enough to show her capability! My father used to say that Scarlett was the bravest and smartest of all the women he knew."
Then Libby paused, "And she is also the most uncompromising woman."
Libby and her family knew well about Scarlett's "uncompromising".
Now that Libby brought past things up, she couldn’t help but feel ashamed and embarrassed.
Darrell knew his wife’s character. He didn't mention the things that happened in the past. "What your father said about Ms. Reed was true. If you don't hate her, it’s not a bad thing to be friends with her."
Libby nodded her head. She knew Darrell was right.
Anyway, today she had given Scarlett another impression. Libby's father had also once said that although Scarlett wouldn't make any concession, she was a woman of vision and she never mixed things up.
Scarlett didn't know Libby had thought so much about it. But she was surprised Libby defended her today.
"Ms. Reed."
Scarlett collected her thoughts when she heard Frank call her. She tossed her head to look at Frank, "Yes?”
"Ryker wants to see you."
Two months after Raymond’s accident, Ryker was convicted of kidnapping and he was sentenced to five years and eight months in prison.
Ryker's sons, Harold and Scott, were also in trouble. Harold had counted on his father and was now heavily in debt. When it came time to liquidate, he got no better outcome than his father.
Scott didn't go to jail. But his company was found to be in big trouble, and the company was fined more than $300 million. But they couldn’t afford that much money at the time, so Scott had to sell some of Tenton's stock.
To Scarlett, Ryker and his family now were all snobs.
But why did Ryker want to see her? She knew it was no good thing without thinking about it.
