Probably because of the familiar fragrance and Chris's scent that lingered on the bed, Scarlett, who hadn't slept much in the past 20 hours, went out like a light.

By the time she woke up, it was already dark. The room was pitch black.

She sat up and felt groggy. For a moment, she thought she was in the villa and habitually called out to Hilla.

Then Scarlett remembered that she was in Chris's apartment.

Scarlett rubbed her temples, sobered up, groped for the switch, and turned on the light.

The room lit up. Scarlett checked her

phone and found that it was about 8 p.m.

The apartment was quiet. It seemed Chris had left.

Scarlett came out, saw the light on in the living room, and went over, only to see Chris reclining on the sofa, seemingly asleep.

A laptop was sitting on his lap. The screen was off.
