As for Doris, she was a woman who preferred to fight than to talk.
"Stop it! Stop it! It's so embarrassing to be fighting in the kindergarten!" The other two women came to stop her.
Doris grabbed a short woman's hair and pulled her away. The woman staggered and fell to the ground.
Feeling unsatisfied, Doris gave her a hard kick on the leg.
"Stop it! If you continue to beat her, she will die." Someone came over and stopped her from beating the woman into pulp.
"Ah, this woman is so ferocious. She doesn't seem like a woman at all!" After Doris taught her a lesson, the woman felt dizzy and she failed to fixate her eyes on Doris.
She was muttering when she got up from the ground.
But when Doris heard her and tried to kick her again, she shrank her neck in fright.
"If I hear you gossiping again, I'll kill you!" Doris seemed to be true to her words when she threatened the women.
"What are you talking about?" They stepped back in horror. They thought Doris was so brutal. If looks could kill, they had been dead on the spot.
Doris got close to her before she replied, "I've been living like this for more than twenty years. Do you want get beaten up until you can't walk anymore?"
“What you guys said was indeed too much. You have provoked her. Hurry up and leave. Why are you still here?" a man scolded.
Feeling embarrassed, the women left with a snort.
"Thank you for defending me, sir!" To Doris, it felt nice to have someone on her side, even on the simplest situation. Because she had always been insulted for being aggressive and courageous.
"You're welcome. I hate women who talk nonsense." He gave her a smile.
Her mouth opened to say something, but her stomach suddenly hurt.
In just a few seconds, the pain had intensified.
At first, she was okay, but the pain became unbearable.
Her face turned pale and beads of sweat formed on her forehead while she was clutching on her stomach.
"Godmother, what's wrong?" Nadia asked timidly.
"Godmother?" Bobby also noticed that there was something wrong with Doris. She used to smile all the time when they were around. But now, she was biting her lips as if she was in great pain.
The pain was excruciating that she couldn't even make a sound. "My belly hurts. It hurts!"
"You... What's wrong?" The man who shooed the women away, noticed how she began crouching so he held her in a hurry.
"I'm pregnant. My belly hurts so much!" After saying that, Doris fainted.
"Hey, hold on. I'll call an ambulance right now." Feeling frightened, the man hurriedly took out his phone to call an ambulance.
"Blood..." With her eyes wide open, Nadia's shaking hand pointed at Doris' leg, where blood kept flowing down.
"Damn it!" His eyes snapped to where Nadia was looking at and he thought they couldn't wait for the ambulance any longer. So he got into his car with Doris in his arms. He had forgotten about the kids Doris was with.
"Bobby, what's wrong with Godmother?" Both Nadia and Bobby were shocked.
”1 don't know." Bobby shook his head.
"Will she die?" Nadia had gone through a lot. She had witnessed the death of her foster mother.
The scene of Flora jumping off the building had been haunting her for a long time. She finally moved on under the care of Nancy.
But because of what she just saw, waves of bad memories rushed through her.
No matter how strong Nadia was, she was still a little child. She trembled and said, "I want to find Mommy. I want to find Mommy, Bobby."
She was too afraid. She had suffered too much pain in her little life.
She didn't want her godmother to die, not at all.
"Is Godmother dying? Will mommy die too? I want to see her!" Due to shock, her mind had been filled with terrible illusions. She ran forward with no destination.
"Nadia, we are supposed to be in the kindergarten. Where are you going?" Although Bobby was anxious and overwhelmed as well, he had to follow her.
As if she didn't hear anything, Nadia kept running.
