The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 239

Nancy smiled as tears fell from her eyes.

"Where is Caspar?" she asked.

"Jay had just told me that he had caught him, and that Caspar had been sent to the police. You don't have to worry anymore, honey. We will make sure that Caspar will be put to justice," Charles said as he finished wrapping Nancy's bandage.

"Ouch..." She took a deep breath due to the pain.

"Do you want me to take you back to the hospital?" Charles worriedly asked.

"Just give me two aspirins. It's really not a big deal!" Nancy answered, clearly in pain.

Charles took capsules out and gave them to Nancy. He also poured her some water as he said, "I'm especially worried about you today. But I trust that you're fine."

Nancy popped the capsules into her mouth and took a sip of water. "Thank you," she said in the most sincere tone.

"Silly girl, I should be the one thanking you. Thank you for taking care of yourself. Otherwise, I really won't know what to do," Charles said. The man meant every word.

Nancy began to realize how important she really was to Charles.

"Where are the kids?" Nancy asked.

"Doris had taken them away so you could recover. Don't worry about them for now, honey. All you need to worry about is feeling better, okay?" Charles said as he took the cup from which Nancy drank.

"Okay!" Nancy obediently lay down on the bed.

At dawn, their doorbell rang.

Charles gently removed Nancy's hand as he stood from the bed.

He put his slippers on, and then proceeded to answer the door. To his surprise, two policemen stood right outside.

The two police men looked stern. They flashed their IDs and said, "Charles, come with us."

Charles chuckled and said, "Sir, I do not understand. I haven't done anything wrong. You must be mistaken..."

"Mr. Charles Fu, have you forgotten that you ran past several red lights yesterday?" a policeman said in an unyielding tone.

"Sir, trust me. I can explain what happened. So I..." Charles looked back to gauge whether Nancy was still sleeping. He did not want to wake her up.

"Whatever your excuse is, no one should run past the red light. Besides, reports said that there was an unknown woman in your car!"

"No, no. That woman and I have a very clean background. If you follow the news, then you should know who she is!" Charles argued.

"Sorry, but we do not indulge ourselves with gossip! Mr. Fu, we're sorry but you have to come with us!"

"Okay. I understand." Charles knew that he had not committed anything wrong, and so he agreed to come with the police. He returned to their room and got ready to follow the police. He gently kissed Nancy's forehead before heading out.

Nancy had a deep long sleep.

She slept until very late.

Nancy felt estranged with her surroundings. She couldn't remember where she was.

After all, that was her first time home for quite some time. Her feeling was completely normal.

"Charles..." In a very low voice, Nancy called out. Unfortunately, no one answered. She massaged her throbbing little head.

Just as she was about to get up, her phone rang.

"Hello, Nancy. Are you feeling better?" Doris could not help to smile gleefully as she said those words.

By Nancy's judgment, Doris did not know about Jill's antics the day prior.

At this moment, what she asked should be the wound on her shoulder.
