The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 267

"It's funny, Charles, really. Women rarely catch your attention. Why don't you spend some time with Lilian tonight? It's on me. Come here, Libby."

"Yes, I'm coming, Mr. Fang." Libby smiled seductively before she sat beside him.

She then picked up the cocktail on the tea table. With excitement shining through her eyes, she said, "I think we were destined to meet and have fun tonight. I'd like to propose a toast to Mr. Fang. Thank you for choosing to spend the evening with me and Lilian."

They had been barmaids for a month.

Most of the other girls who worked here for some time had regular customers. As newcomers, they could only accompany new customers with whom they would start to build connections.

Every profession had its own rules, and being a barmaid was not as easy as it is perceived by the outside world.

It was particularly difficult for girls who were new in the profession. They were still figuring out how to deal with customers. Plus, they frequently get molested. Feeling like they had no choice and nowhere else to go, they swallowed the humiliation and pretended to be happy.

After all, they were poor and desperate.

So tonight, they served Charles and Jay like they were gods.

Libby and Lilian were very careful out for fear of offending them.

Charles focused on drinking wine and just occasionally asked about their village.

However, Jay had never been a man who followed the rules, or perhaps he felt suppressed by Doris for a long time so he wanted to enjoy some freedom. He was living in the moment, enjoying the company of the barmaid. He felt so relaxed, just laughing and drinking wine.

Charles didn't mind as long as Jay didn't do anything out of line. He remained quiet for the rest of the evening.

Meanwhile, Nancy and Doris had already gone through a number of bars and nightclubs. But they didn't see either Charles' or Jay's car.

It was almost midnight, and Nancy was starting to feel dozy.

Doris, on the other hand, was anxiously biting her lips, furious.

"Doris, I think we should call it a night. I can't go on looking for them anymore. Let's go home," exhorted Nancy.

"I don't think so, Nancy. You said we wouldn't stop until we find them, but until now we still don't have a clue. Where could they have possibly gone to?"

Something was off. It was getting deep into the night, yet even the phones of both men could not be reached.

"Nancy, where else could they be? Did they check into a hotel with some bimbos?" Doris was starting to look dreadful and embittered.

She couldn't help but picture such an awful scenario. Jay said that he would just go out for a drink. Doris expected that it would be easy to locate him should she need to bring him home. But they'd already been to most of the clubs in the city. Was Jay really planning to abandon her?

Nancy didn't know to respond so she just remained silent. They'd been looking for the men for hours now.

Doris wouldn't spend the whole night searching for Jay, would she?

If they really had to, Nancy could manage to stay up all night; it was Friday night anyway. She could sleep in on the weekend. But Doris was a completely different case. She was pregnant. Staying up late and roaming around the city at night was dangerous both for her and the baby!

If anything bad happened to her, she would regret it.

With this in mind, Nancy started the car.

"Nancy, are we really just going to let this go? If we go home like this, it means we're tolerating their atrocious behavior. We can't just let them get away and pretend like they didn't do anything wrong!" Doris had always struggled with impatience. The situation was really getting on her nerves. "Why do I feel so disgusted?"

"We shouldn't assume, Doris. We don’t have any evidence, do we?" Nancy thought about it for a while. Charles didn't seem like a man accustomed to folly, but Doris' suspicion made her think twice. She had a point, after all. Jay's urging could eventually make him give in.
