The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 386

She couldn't understand why Jay was asking her these things.

Neither did she know the purpose of her hiding the past from him.

It was possible that she was afraid of telling him about her terrible past so that he wouldn't look down on her. She probably wanted to impress him so that he would accept her.

Maybe, that was her motive for hiding the truth all this time.

Based on that, it might have meant that there was no love between her and Jay.

If she truly had feelings for this man, then she wouldn't be willing to hide her past from him.

Doris felt like she was walking into a cloud of fog and simply couldn't get out.

"Okay," Jay said softly.

For now, he needed to make sure he was gentle and patient towards her as much as possible, because it seemed like it would take a while to regain her trust in him.

The truth was that Jay was really upset, but he had to suck it up and hide his true feelings in front of her.

All of a sudden, Doris paused in the middle of her tracks.

"What's wrong?" Jay asked curiously.

"Excuse me. I'm sorry, but which room am I supposed to be in?" Doris asked.

"Well..." Jay raised his finger and pointed towards a door.

"Thank you." Doris proceeded to walk inside.

Jay followed her into the room.

Doris stopped in the middle of her step and looked back at him.

"It's getting late, Doris. The baby must be tired by now, so you should go to bed." Jay took out a hair dryer from table and helped her dry her wet hair.

"Okay," Doris answered in a detached voice.

"Alright." Jay placed the hair dryer back on the table and proceeded to remove the belt of his robe.

His strong, ripped chest was exposed in front of her, which caused Doris to instinctively cover her eyes. From shock, she asked fiercely, "What are you doing?"

"Didn't you agree to go to bed already? So, let's go to sleep now," Jay said in utter confusion.

”1 did tell you I was going to get some rest, but I never said that you could sleep in the same bed as me. I need to have my own space," said Doris in her defense.

"I...” Jay pointed to himself, then at Doris. "Doris, I'm your husband. We're a couple... A couple! Why can't you accept that fact?"

Jay couldn't understand why this woman wouldn't even allow him to share a room with her.

'Doris, what the hell do you want me to do?' he thought.

"Can you even prove that we’re actually a couple?" Doris asked arrogantly. If they were truly a couple, their close relationship would surely leave at least a little bit of memories about them. It made no sense the she could not remember anything about him.

She was worried that this man was only taking advantage of her.

In an irritated state, Jay sighed and opened the drawer to take out the couple's marriage certificate. He placed the certificate into Doris' hands and said, "Here. Read these words stated in this document. What does it say? You can be suspicious towards me all you want, but you can't doubt the law, right?"

Doris unfolded the marriage certificate. In the photo, there was a bright smile on her face. She didn't seem to look like she thought she was being exploited.

The smile on her face became awkward. "Jay, I'm not suspecting you at all. However, I don't know anything about our relationship. The situation is also making me confused and upset. Could you just give me some time to process all these things?"

"Yet, you seem to remember Felix, don't you?" Jay roared as he was feeling dejected. It hadn't been long, but his patience had already been worn out.

"Yes! Felix is my childhood sweetheart and my protector for years. Of course, I remember him!" Because Jay was yelling at her, Doris couldn't help but get angered and yelled back at him.

So, Jay simply turned around with an angry attitude and left.
