The Adorable Twin’s Sticky Daddy novel Chapter 406

Derrick cherished his comfort and life above all else. He would never put his life in jeopardy for the TS Group.

But it was hard to tell how badly he was injured this time.

Just then, Charles's phone rang.

The call was from Frederic.

"How did grandpa hear of the news so soon?" Charles asked with a frown. He didn't want to enrage his grandpa for fear of aggravating his heart condition. Frederic would usually read financial newspapers in the early morning, so since when had it been a habit of him to browse mobile news?

Charles hastily got out of bed, his annoyance apparently visible. "Nancy, you should go downstairs to have breakfast with Bobby."

Grandpa must have called at this very moment just to scold him. It was better not to let the children hear such a fierce conversation between them.

"Okay." Nancy straightened her clothes and quietly walked out of the room, hand in hand with Bobby.

Charles answered the phone calmly. "Grandpa."

"Charles, what have you done to Derrick? I know you hate him, but nevertheless, he is still your uncle. How can you kill him without any regards to his life?" Frederic bellowed furiously before Charles could speak.

It was a fact that every parent loved their children, and Frederic was no exception.

No matter how old Derrick was, he would still remain

Frederic's son.

If something bad were to happen to Derrick, Frederic would have no way to live the rest of his life peacefully.

"I didn't do anything to him. Who informed you that something had happened to Derrick? And who told you that the car accident was in any way related to me?" Charles tried to make his voice as gentle as possible to avoid a tit for tat confrontation with grandpa and to pacify his agitation.

"How dare you say it has nothing to do with you? Well, even if I don't believe what Derrick told me, Joseph would not lie to me, would he? Alas... Charles, do you really want me to say it out loud? You bastard!"

Frederic had always spoiled Charles and seldom scolded him in the past. But now, he was unleashing his fury on him

Earlier in the morning, he was woken up by Joseph's call.

Joseph was frantically crying, "Grandpa, my father went out to see you this morning, but he was involved in a car accident on the way. It was cause by my brother's bodyguard, Hiram. He is out to kill my father. Grandpa, you must help me."

This morning, while Joseph was sleeping, Derrick came in. He patted him on the shoulder and said, "Joseph, I'm going to the old mansion. Take good care of yourself. If you don't want to cook, just order takeout or go out to eat something."

It was a rare occasion for Derrick to care about him so much and Joseph felt moved. He opened his eyes and replied dutifully, "Okay, will do. Thank you, father."

Derrick tenderly stroked Joseph's hair and mumbled, "I know I have been too strict with you all these years, but you are my only son. Remember, you are everything to me. I love you."

Joseph's whole body went limp and numb by Frederic's words. If he hadn't heard it with his very own ears, he would find it hard to believe that Derrick would say such loving and kind words.

Joseph was deeply touched and was almost moved to tears. He hurriedly replied, "Dad, I love you, too. Say hello to grandpa for me."

"Okay, I'm leaving now," Derrick responded and went out after saying that.

Joseph continued to catch up on his sleep.

However, not before long, he suddenly received a call from the traffic police.

It was said that Derrick was involved in a car accident and the culprit was none other than Hiram.

Joseph's mind was still in a blur. He confusedly asked with haste, "Which Hiram do you mean?"

"He is one of your brother's bodyguards. Come on. Your father's life is in critical condition and it is uncertain if he will make it."

Joseph's initial reaction was that Charles deliberately instructed Hiram to involve Derrick in a car accident in order to kill him. Without Derrick in the equation, Charles could then hold the reins of the TS Group firmly without any hindrance.

In his panic, Joseph called Frederic. He kept on wailing and complaining. As a consequence, Frederic blamed the car accident on Charles.
