How could Edward not be moved when Summer was willing to change for him? There was nothing else he could give her except all his love.
But every time he would see her face which was almost identical to Nancy's, Edward would still be inexplicably absent-minded.
He couldn't get rid of that emotion for a while.
Although Summer noticed it, she never voiced it out. Everyone had a beautiful past, didn't they?
When he came back to his senses, Edward said, "Thank you, Summer."
"What are you thanking me for? We are two people who will spend the rest of our lives together." A smile appeared on her face when she said these words.
Edward gently put his arm around Summer's shoulder.
As soon as he pressed his lips on hers, his phone suddenly rang. So, Edward pulled away and shrugged apologetically before taking out his phone.
When he saw Nancy’s name on the screen, he turned around to leave but Summer gently grabbed his arm. "Edward, I know it's Nancy. We are a couple. You don't have to hide anything from me."
With an awkward smile, Edward nodded. "Okay."
Then he answered the phone with an unnatural look on his face.
"Edward, do you remember our classmate from psychiatric department before who is very skillful? I forgot his name. Can you contact him? I have a patient here, and there is something wrong with her. I want to ask him to come to our hospital and check on my patient."
"Yes. His name is Rick. I'll give you his phone number, so you can contact him," said Edward.
To Nancy's delight, everything went well. "Thank you, Edward."
Her tone made Edward raise his eyebrows. "Don't be too polite with me."
"Well, okay. Send Rick's phone number to my WeChat and I'll contact him." Even though Edward couldn't see it, Nancy still flashed a playful smile.
Not everyone could see this side of her. She could only show her true colors in front of people she trusted the most. Everyone in the society had a layer of armor to protect themselves, right?
"Okay."
Right after Edward ended the call, he forwarded Rick's number to Nancy.
All of a sudden, Summer had lost her confidence. "Edward, I think maybe we can come home a few days later. I think... I think we need more time to get along with each other. We need to know more about each other, and I need to prepare myself..."
Because the way Edward and Nancy talked on the phone just now made her jealous.
Looking at her jealous face, Edward couldn't help but smile.
Was he really happy with Summer?
At this moment, Summer became uncertain and confused.
She had no idea what to do.
Stroking her hair, Edward joked, "Silly woman, haven't you heard that an ugly bride isn't afraid to meet her parents-in-law?"
"Am I ugly?" Stunned, Summer touched her face. "Am I really ugly?"
However, Edward only stared at her now serious face.
"Edward, say something. Am I ugly?" Summer continued to ask.
Pretending to be serious, Edward nodded. "Yes, very ugly."
"You..." In an instant, Summer's mood shifted. "Edward, if I'm ugly, then Nancy is ugly as well! We look alike very much."
