“Wait outside, Quintina,” James urged her again.

Quintina explained, “Father, this is Sir Yoan’s disciple. He said he could save you, so I brought him here to see what he can do.”

Farley showed Quintina a vulnerable expression when he heard the news.

He understood how Quintina was feeling and did not want to disappoint her. He told her, “You can stay outside for the time being, Quintina. I’ll have a few words with him.”

“Okay.” Quintina nodded and turned to leave.

After she left, Farley’s gaze turned to James. With a faint smile, he asked, “Young man, you were sent by the Divinity Sect, weren’t you? The Divine Holy Emperor didn’t intend to bring his disciples into our territory just to gain a spot in the Pagoda of Flames, right? He’s trying to find out whether I’m still alive.”

Farley thought James was a spy sent by the Divine Holy Emperor from the Divinity Sect. James’ brows furrowed, and he replied, “What are you talking about? I’m a disciple of the Welkin Academy. My teacher is Sir Yoan. I’ve nothing to do with the Divinity Sect.”

“That’s enough. You can go back and tell the Divine Holy Emperor that I’m not dead yet. He’ll have to think twice if he wants to take action against the Ancient Clan.”

James did not leave. Instead, he strode toward Farley.
