James wanted to react but could only watch silently as his cultivation rank was indeed low.
Monica was offended on James’ behalf and said, “Sir, why aren’t you saying anything?”
James looked at her calmly and said, “What should I say? There’s nothing much I can say to defend myself. He’s speaking the truth.”
Monica stomped her feet angrily.
The Great Elder looked at James, then ignored him. He turned back to Jules, saying, “I see you’ve been messing around outside all this time. Since the conference is about to begin you should quietly remain in Sky City. I still have other matters to attend to, so I’ll leave first.”
After speaking, the Great Elder turned to leave.
With a flash, he disappeared from their sight.
“Mr. Caden… I…”
Jules said embarrassedly, “We live in a world where strength is valued above all. However, the energy you exhibit is too weak. You’re formidable so why do you want to stay so inconspicuous?”
He could not understand why James was hiding his true strength.
Even if James wanted to keep a low profile, there was no need to disguise himself as a cultivator in the Sage Rank.
James was rendered speechless. Even if he wanted to, he could not flaunt his strength.
“Just let it be,” replied James calmly.
Jules gave a thumbs up and said, “Impressive. I’m sure you have a good reason to hide your power.”
From Jules’s perspective, James must have had a compelling reason for his every word and action.
Jules brought James into the manor.
Initially, he wanted to bring James to his father. However, Helvius was not in the manor, so instead he sorted out James’ accommodation in the residence's backyard.
The backyard of the manor was in a separate courtyard.
Only distinguished guests of the Elixir Pavilion were allowed to stay here.
