A streak of blue light cut through the sky, landing beside James. The blue light materialized slowly into a man with a blue robe. The man looked young, around twenty years or so. He had sharp features and was rather handsome and gentleman-looking. His smile was so warm it made those who set eyes on him feel cozy.

“Who is this man?”

The man in the blue robe’s appearance confused many living beings behind James. Their sole purpose in following James in the first place was to see for themselves the powerful figures who were about to partake in the Martial Ranking. However, this man in the blue robe was not one of those figures they were looking forward to meeting.

James stopped to look at the man. With a casual and relaxed face, he asked, “You are…?”

The man replied with a chuckle, “Gutierre Linford.”

“Gutierre Linford?” The sound of his name startled the living beings behind James.

“G-Gutierre? The guy who emerged as number three on the Martial Ranking of Mount Heavenly Path? That powerful genius who was birthed into existence a thousand Epochs ago and who cultivated eight Path Seals? The guy who crushed an entire Age and was the champion in the Martial Ranking? But didn’t he disappear after his ranking dropped to third?”

“I can’t believe that we would meet Gutierre once we arrived at Mount Heavenly Path.”
