The alienation of the Cloud Race by other Races was not a secret. Everyone knew about this. Since Youri had yet to make a move on the Bug Race, the Bug Race remained hopeful. They did not retreat but stayed and waited for updates.
Impersonating as Youri, James stepped into the Formation and appeared in the compound of the Cloud Race’s base camp. Many powerful figures of the Cloud Race appeared simultaneously, welcoming the arrival of Youri.
“Youri, you’re finally here. If you didn’t show up, we might’ve been eradicated already.” Fitzroy Yiskah, the Sect Leader of the Cloud Race walked towards James, his expression filled with joy. In his opinion, Youri was here because of the crisis they were facing. The Bug Race would no longer threaten his own Race.
“Great Elder, please enter.” Fitzroy welcomed James personally, bringing him to the main hall. Fitzroy sat on the main seat, while James sat next to him. Other powerful figures remained standing because they had no right to sit before the Dooms.
James took a glance at Fitzroy and caressed his beard. He said calmly, “Fitzroy, you should know why I’m here.”
James was here because of the key. But he did not divulge from early on and just allowed the Cloud Race to figure that out. If they guessed correctly, he would save himself the awkwardness. Otherwise, he would just have to come clean about everything.
Fitzroy was taken aback slightly and enquired, “Didn’t you come here because you’ve received our cry for help?”
James did not answer this question and merely replied, “A long time ago, when the Cloud Race was part of the Ten Great Races, you sealed up the human Soren. Due to the unique geography of the Cloud Race, a Formation was able to be set up in the hidden area of the compound. Soren was trapped there forever, and the ten keys that could open the Formation were guarded by the ten Races respectively.”
James scanned across the room, observing the expressions of the powerful figures before him. He was trying to analyze their thoughts through their expressions. These figures looked solemn.
James continued, “The Cloud Race today is no longer part of the Ten Great Races. Now, even a race like the Bug Race can harass you. It’s no longer safe for the key to stay here. My Sect Leader thus sent me here to retrieve the key from you.” James directly told them his reason for being there.
“Great Elder…” Fitzroy’s expression looked awkward and said, “Great Elder, we agreed that each race would guard a key. No matter what, no race has any right to take back the key from another race. What you’re doing now conflicts with our previous agreement. If you want the key, that’s no problem, but it must be done like how we agreed upon, that all of those who made such rules must gather together. Till then, we won’t hand over the key.”
Fitzroy was not dumb. Now that the only Acmean of the Cloud Race had mysteriously disappeared, they were no longer a force to be reckoned with. The key was the trump card he had to play. If he handed the key to Youri, even the Ten Great Races would attack them, let alone the Bug Race. This was especially so given that the Cloud Race’s location was so unique. Otherwise, Soren would not be trapped here in the first place.
Hearing this, James’ expression turned grave as he summoned a small amount of Chaos Power, allowing the Power to spread and form an invisible storm. He restrained the storm almost immediately after it began to erupt.
