James stopped using the Omniscience Path and his Chaos Power. He even put his sword back in its sheath.
Qimat slightly lowered his guard upon seeing that James was in an unarmed state.
James beamed broadly as he treaded toward Qimat. “I’ve heard all about you from Mr. Youri. You are his right-hand man. From now on, the two of us can work together to help Mr. Youri achieve many of his great ambitions!”
Qimat looked at James, who had stopped right before him, for some time. Then, he said, “We should head back and meet with Mr. Youri first. I’m sure he has further instructions for us.”
At that moment, Qimat suddenly raised his palm and slammed it forcefully on the center of James’ chest.
The impact of the hit was so strong that James felt as though every muscle fiber in his body was about to be torn apart.
The blow sent James’ body flying backward through the air, destroying the Chaotic Void along the path.
Eventually, James managed to stop and steady himself. However, he coughed up a mouthful of blood the next instant.
James lifted his eyes and stared furiously at Qimat. He
asked in a gruff voice, “What’s the meaning of this? Are you trying to kill me? Would you be able to handle the consequences of your actions once Mr. Youri learns of this?”
Qimat took a few big strides toward James.
“Did you honestly think I’d believe all those things you just said? If you truly were working for Mr. Youri, you wouldn’t have helped Madam Thea escape just now.”
‘That’s because you don’t know anything!” James snapped at him, “It was all part of Mr. Youri’s plan!”
“Is it?” Qimat replied flatly, “Mr. Youri shares almost every single detail of his plans with me, yet I have no knowledge of your involvement all along. Just be good and follow us back to our base. We’ll have the truth once we see Mr. Youri. If you really are working for him, I’m willing to accept any punishment for ruining his arrangements for you.”
