James had no intention of getting into any fights with the Ursas. He quickly implied that he was only there to carry out Youriʼs orders.
“Besides…”
James went on, “All of you must have received the news from the Dooms. Madam Thea of the Human Race is still alive. What’s more, that mysterious human has also been making frequent appearances during recent battles. Humans have begun to take action. Our Patriarch, Sir Youri, has only very little time left.”
“It’s very important that Sir Youri obtain the Blithe Omniscience and achieve the Caelum Acme Rank as soon as possible. Once Sir Youri has reached that rank, heʼll be able to keep those of the Human Race in check and buy more time for all the other races.”
“However, if the humans managed to rise and gain power again, we would definitely have to suffer their wrath for what had happened in the past. I wonder if the Ursas will be able to stand a chance against the humans when that happens.”
James calmly laid out the facts for them.
Gaerel had discussed the matter with the Patriarchs of the other races, and all of them had agreed to hand over their tokens to the Dooms.
‘Still, I am feeling rather reluctant to hand over the token. My people feel the same as well.’ Gaerel pondered.
“Wyot Dalibor, I can give you the token.” Gaerel focused his gaze on the man from the Doom Race. Then, he said slowly, “However, you have to fight and earn it.”
“Huh?”
James looked at Gaerel. “So, you want to settle this through a fight? I know very well that I'm no match for Sir Gaerel. If defeating Sir Gaerel is the condition for you to give up the token, then I will head back and inform Sir Youri about this. I’m sure Sir Youri is willing to come and take you up on the challenge.”
James brought up Youriʼs name again to intimidate the Ursas since the man had reached the Ninth Rank of the Omniscience Path.
“You’re not going to fight with me, of course.” Youri continued, “I’ve talked to the other patriarchs, and we all agree that only the Dooms and the humans stand a chance to rise to be the strongest group in the near future.”
