Chapter 264
Damian’s behavior was confusing.
Now that he and Harper were mated, he had taken over the finances and he was keeping track of the expenses and Harper’s money. But on the other side of things, he was being very kind and tender.
No matter how hard and tiring his work was, he would clean up the house and prevent her from cooking or washing clothes when he returned home from a business trip.
Harper had always lacked love in her life growing up in the orphanage. When she met Damian, a male who cared for her like this, she handed over her heart and relied heavily on him.
Although Damian still treated her with the same kindness and care and affection after they were mated that he had treated her with before they mated and moved in together, he always found
excuses regarding financial things.
And he complained about being poor in front of
Harper.
It affected Harper because was a soft-hearted she-wolf. She took the initiative to pay the mortgage because Damian didn’t have enough money. Damian recently said that his sales had not improved, and he didn’t get the bonus he typically got when sales were
better.
As one of the wolves in his pack who lived in the big city in Arcadia, it was up to him to help care for the older pack family members back home. Since Damian was struggling with his job currently, Harper had to take care of his pack responsibilities now that she was his mate and part of his pack.
Now, on top of that, there was $200,000 in debt in their family. Although Damian said he would pay it back himself, the money belonged to their joint property.
After the mating ceremony, Harper put all the
money and some that Damian had given her into an account. She wanted to deposit some funds for their future pups. Damian said that his basic salary would
also be transferred to that account.
But it didn’t take long for $200,000 to be deducted.
When they mated, the mating gifts they gave Harper was $180,000. With his little money, it was precisely
$200,000…
Harper didn’t want to guess what Damian was thinking about after they had dated for so many years. Money was unimportant to her, and his love was the most important.
But that this had happened so soon after they were married didn’t make Harper happy.
