The elevator arrived, and as the doors slid open, Brittany caught sight of the man standing inside.
It was the man from that night.
With a snap, Brittany ended her call and squeezed into the elevator. “It’s you!”
The man looked even more handsome than he had that night.
“What’s your name?”
Isaac stared into her face, those eyes penetrating. “You don’t remember me?”
Brittany frowned. “Do we know each other?”
Isaac chuckled softly. “Not really.”
Before Brittany could say more, the elevator doors opened, and Isaac quickly stepped out.
Brittany was about to follow when her phone rang again.
“Bri, where are you?” It was Holden.
“I’m at the customer service department.”
...
Isaac headed straight to the penthouse and pushed open a door.
Elijah was already there. “You made it.”
“Yeah.”
Isaac hadn't expected to survive his recent ordeal, let alone run into Elijah.
“Seen Brittany yet?”
“Yeah, I did.”
After waking up and spending months bedridden with repeated infections and fevers, Isaac had barely clung to life. The moment he was well enough, he eagerly went to find Brittany, only to be caught in an accident that nearly cost him his life.
“I told you she’s got amnesia. Why bother approaching her?”
