Kari's hands were shaking. She only wanted to be an ordinary employee, how did she suddenly end up with shares in the company?
"These shares were discussed with Mr. Tueley," Brittany poured her a coffee. "Kari, you've been with me from the start and you've put in a lot of work. This is what you deserve."
Tears welled up in Kari's eyes. She had worked hard with the only hope of a promotion and a raise. She never expected to receive shares in the company.
"Brittany, these shares..." they were worth a fortune.
"Kari, you're capable and hardworking. This is only fair," Brittany gripped her hand. "The studio will be like our baby from now on. We have to take good care of it and make sure there are no problems."
"I understand."
Kari, with teary eyes, signed the document and closed the file. "Brittany, I hope this remains between us. I don't want to cause unnecessary trouble."
"Oh, and invite everyone to Trattoria del Mare for dinner tonight!"
Kari walked out of the office, cleared her throat, and clapped her hands. All eyes were on her. "Folks, dinner's on Ms. Dustin tonight. See you all at Trattoria del Mare!"
The whole studio burst into excitement.
Brittany left at 5:30, telling Kari, "I have to go pick up grandma. You take everyone to Trattoria del Mare first. We'll meet there at 6:30."
"Sure."
On her way home, Brittany's car was parked in the neighborhood as she had been commuting with Isaac these past few days.
Once downstairs, she drove straight to Grandeur Capital. Upon reaching, she called Isaac, who came out after a while.
Isaac opened the car door, Grace looked at him, seemingly displeased.
Isn't it inappropriate for a man to let his wife drive?
Isaac put down his briefcase and looked at Brittany. "You can chat with grandma. I'll drive."
"Alright."
Brittany sat in the back with grandma, while Isaac drove straight to Trattoria del Mare.
Kari arrived at Trattoria del Mare with everyone, waiting for about ten minutes before seeing Brittany's car pull up.
"Kari, I heard Ms. Dustin's husband is very handsome. Is that true?"
"Yes."
