Brittany was pregnant, and it was his child.
He couldn't just stand by and watch Brittany enter into an arranged marriage with the Elthams.
He had to reveal his true identity to stand a chance against the Craneville royalty.
“What’s going on with you?”
Elijah thought it was about Brittany’s arranged marriage. “If it's about Brittany marrying into the Eltham family, don't sweat it. The royal engagement isn’t set in stone yet, and even if it were, engagements can be broken.”
Isaac was noncommittal. “That's part of it.”
“Is there something else?”
“Name your price, and it's yours,” Isaac said with a furrowed brow. “Consider it a favor owed.”
After Isaac left, Elijah was filled with questions.
“Find out where he's been lately. I need to know what made him change his mind.”
...
Isaac was determined to end their partnership, handing over all the documents to Elijah.
On the surface, Elijah agreed, but he still wanted to maintain their alliance.
Isaac reluctantly agreed.
He arranged for Nathan to take Brittany to a private clinic for a check-up.
The doctor conducted a thorough examination and confirmed Brittany was pregnant.
“Ms. Lynette, congratulations, you’re expecting.”
The doctor recognized Brittany. Wasn’t she engaged to Prince Eltham? How could she be pregnant?
Isaac wrapped an arm around Brittany, gently massaging her back to alleviate her discomfort.
“How far along?”
“Based on the examination, about two months.”
Isaac nodded. “Her morning sickness has been quite severe. Please take good care of her, and keep this matter strictly confidential.”
The doctor, well-versed in the secrets of the elite, nodded in agreement.
Leaving the clinic, Isaac helped Brittany into the car and buckled her seatbelt. “I bought a villa near the Lynette Mansion. I'm moving in today. I’ll come to see you every evening. If you need anything, I'll be there.”
Brittany was taken aback by his gesture. “What about your partnership with Elijah?”
