He couldn't pin all his hopes on Isaac.
Brittany was his only child, the apple of his eye, and he was determined to get her out of town before she started showing. She was never to set foot in Craneville again in her life!
Once he had made up his mind, as soon as dawn broke, Yuri headed straight for the law office.
"Mr. Lynette, you seem quite eager to divide your estate. Is something the matter?"
The lawyer had known Yuri for over thirty years, and although he was aware that all of Yuri's assets were eventually going to Brittany, the urgency puzzled him.
"It's nothing. It was going to her eventually."
Yuri shook his head, "Just draft the contract. I need it now."
Not wanting to delay, the lawyer drafted the contract as quickly as possible and handed it to Yuri, "Mr. Lynette."
With the contract in hand, Yuri returned home, just as Brittany was coming downstairs.
"Dad."
Given their conversation the night before, Brittany was a bit sheepish, barely managing a whisper.
"Come with me."
Brittany followed, a bit wary, "Dad, are you still mad at me?"
Yuri sat down, sliding the documents across to Brittany, "Sign."
Looking at the folder, Brittany's breath hitched.
Was her dad so disappointed in her that he was sending her away?
She hesitated to take the documents, tears welling in her eyes.
Yuri's voice softened, "I've transferred all my assets to you. You and Isaac need to leave Craneville and never come back."
"Dad—"
Brittany hadn't expected this. Her dad wasn't sending her away in disgrace; he was setting her free!
