Hestia sighed, "No, that's not it."
Twila, fueled by disbelief, insisted, "It has to be that woman filling dad's head with lies. Why else would he dislike you so much?"
She had warned Brittany not to meddle in their family. Yet, here they were.
Hestia looked at Twila, noticing how much she had changed lately. Just as she was about to offer some comfort, Twila hugged her tightly, "Mom, don't worry. I'll make dad like you again."
Twila was up early, had her breakfast, and was chauffeured to Star Elementary School.
After Twila's identity was revealed, it attracted quite a bit of attention.
Being the first daughter of Eltham, even as an illegitimate child, she was of royal blood!
Many kids were eager to befriend Twila.
"Good morning, Twila."
The children greeted Twila, who wasn't in a hurry to enter the classroom, instead, she waited at the door.
"Waiting for Daniel again, Twila?"
A boy stepped out of a car, spotting Twila and hurried over, "Stop waiting for him. Daniel doesn't even like hanging out with you!"
He had a crush on Twila and wanted to be her best friend.
Twila was unimpressed, "Get lost!"
The boy was pushed away, feeling a bit resentful.
Right then, a dark Maserati stopped in front of the school gate.
"It's Daniel's mom!"
Some kids recognized Brittany's car.
Since her enrollment, Twila hadn't seen any of Daniel's family members, so her interest was piqued.
The car door opened, and Daniel, with his backpack and a box of cupcakes along with a bottle of apple juice, got out.
Brittany emerged from the back seat, crouched down, and kissed his cheek, "Have a good day at school. Mommy will be off to work but I’ll pick you up in the evening."
