Brittany nodded shyly, her face slightly flushed.
After breakfast, Isaac dropped her off at the studio. Kari Malone looked at her, full of suspicion.
"Bri, you seem a bit off today."
Brittany played it cool.
"What's different?"
Was she that obvious?
Kari teased, "You're glowing with love vibes today!"
Brittany, slightly embarrassed, glared at Kari and said, "Stop making things up."
"Fine." Kari realized Brittany was feeling awkward and changed the topic to talk about work.
Brittany was personally handling Zella's order.
After several interactions, they had become closer.
Zella invited Brittany for dinner, but Brittany, remembering her plans with Isaac for the night, had to decline, saying, "Can't; I have plans tonight."
Zella seemed disappointed. "Alright, let's rain check then."
After Zella left, Brittany focused on her work.
At 5 p.m., Brittany decided to call it a day early. She packed up her stuff.
Kari approached her with a smirk and said, "You're going on a date with Mr. Salter, aren't you?"
Brittany replied, "No, I’m just having dinner with him."
That doesn't count as a date, right?
Kari burst into laughter. "That's a date! You should dress up."
Brittany was already dressed formally for work. She was in a black suit with high heels, looking bossy.
As the boss, she needed to maintain this persona.
But now she was going on a date, so she needed a different style.
Brittany agreed with Kari, but Isaac was due any minute, and there was no time to change.
"I had it all planned."
Kari pulled out a gift bag from her office and said, "I wanted to give this to you earlier but couldn't find the right moment. Have a look."
Brittany took the bag and found a little black dress inside.
It was a classic piece, made of fine fabric and tailored perfectly.
