The news that Loraine had hired Brittany spread like wildfire in the industry.
"Yeah, Ms. Field did hit me up." Brittany didn't hold back, "She's paying big bucks, so I'm thinking, once we wrap up this project, we could consider buying a bigger house."
She had some money saved up and was considering investing in a house.
Isaac felt a pang, "Over the years, I've saved up about 200k. When the time comes, you can pick a place."
He already owned several properties, but if Brittany wanted, he was game for buying another one together.
Brittany was flabbergasted, "200k?"
She had always assumed Isaac was strapped for cash. Little did she know he could drop 200k without blinking an eye.
She had about 100k she could dip into, in addition to the commission from Loraine's project. She could scrape together 200k.
"Zakky, we could start house hunting."
Brittany had always yearned for a place of her own but had been held back by a lack of funds.
Now things were looking up.
Isaac gently took her hand, his eyes soft. They'd get their house and car.
Imperial Airport.
William Dillion, suitcase in tow, emerged and was greeted by the long-awaiting Sydney Ramsey.
"William, you're back."
William had been away on business for a while. Sydney had rushed to the airport to pick him up. She had taken care to dress up, donning a long dress that accentuated her svelte figure.
William took a step back, "Sydney, what brings you here?"
He hadn't told anyone about his return. How did she find out?
Sydney saw his guard up and swallowed hard, "William, it's been a while. I've missed you."
She felt a bit saddened. Why wouldn't William accept her after knowing her feelings for him?
"Sydney, we're just colleagues. Let's not mix business with pleasure."
He didn't want to give her the wrong impression.
But Sydney wasn't having it. "William, Brittany's hitched now. Why are you still…"
"Sydney." William's face hardened, "Brittany and I are just friends. Let's leave it at that."
Brittany was married now. If word of Sydney's comments got out, who would bear the repercussions?
Sydney hadn't expected William to be so loyal to Brittany, going to such lengths to protect her.
"Alright, I was out of line. William, let me treat you to dinner?"
