The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 168

William shrugged off his coat, his movements a bit too carefree.

"What's up?"

Derek noticed his odd behavior, "Feeling under the weather?"

William shook his head, tossing his coat to the side and loosening his tie, "Nah, just a bit sore."

He'd just returned from the hospital after a matching test and still felt the sting.

"If it hurts, don't drink."

Derek sat there while William unceremoniously ordered a juice. The three of them hadn't met in a long while and were having a blast catching up.

Wesley got a call midway through; his celeb girlfriend felt sick, so he had to jet.

After he left, Derek turned to William, "Ever met Zac's wife?"

"Nah, never got the chance."

William felt a pang of regret, they'd been married for so long, and he hadn't met her yet.

Derek shook his head, "I have; she’s quite a looker."

Unfortunately, her personality wasn't quite as pleasant.

The stuff in those files was backed up with photos and evidence. No doubt it was the real deal.

"By the way, how's it going with that university sweetheart of yours?"

Their close-knit group knew William had been carrying a torch for someone for years, but no one knew who.

"She's married."

Derek's face fell with sympathy, "What's her name, this girl? So young and had such poor taste. How could she overlook a catch like you?"

William was a man many women could only dream of; how could she not be into him?

"Don't say that. She’s a great gal."

"So what's her name? Maybe I know her."

Derek didn't care. He just wanted a story.

Unable to resist Derek's enthusiasm, William finally caved, "Brittany, she's a jewelry designer. She's married, and we're friends now."

At the mention of the name, Derek's drink slipped, spilling onto his pants, "What's her name?"
