The one who started this conversation was Tina, the most experienced designer in the studio. They all worked in the field of jewelry design, and even the most seasoned designers had their own set of clients, including a fair share of rich and fancy ladies. They had a rough idea about all the secrets and gossips in the industry.
As soon as Tina dropped her bombshell, all eyes were focused on her, "Are you serious?"
"At the Salter family's dinner party, the Field family proposed a marriage alliance. I heard Mr. Salter refused right on the spot." Tina shook her head, "If you don't believe me, you can ask Ms. Dustin, she was there that night. And guess what? I heard Mr. Salter announced that he was already hitched!"
Another jaw-dropping piece of news!
"But the identity of his wife remains a mystery." Tina said.
Tina was curious too. Mr. Salter was so secretive that people who didn't know him well didn't even know his name, let alone his face.
"Do rich people do secret marriages too?"
"Well, I'm not sure about that." Tina played coy, "I heard that Mr. Salter always wears a mask in public. Some people think he might be ugly."
But that was just a rumor. Tina had once caught a glimpse of Mr. Salter from afar when she was designing for a top actress. He was quite a looker, but she didn't spill the beans. After all, Isaac was a low-profile guy and it wasn't worth rubbing him the wrong way for a bit of gossip.
"Well, if he was really handsome, why would he bother with a mask, right?"
"There's no such thing as a perfect man. Mr. Salter is a billionaire, the sole heir of the Salter family. Even if he's not a pretty boy, he's still a catch."
"Speaking of handsome men, the most handsome man I've ever seen is Brittany's husband."
Everyone in the studio knew that Brittany was married and her husband was a real hunk.
Tina hadn't attended the Trattoria del Mare dinner, so she didn't get a chance to meet Brittany's hubby. She was a bit curious, "Is he really that handsome?"
"Definitely."
"Brittany's husband is really hot. He doesn't talk much, but he's very considerate and treats Brittany really well."
The receptionist joined in on their chatter, "I can vouch for that. Back when our studio wasn't as big, Mr. Salter used to come pick Brittany up. I've seen his profile. He's really good-looking."
Tina's curiosity was piqued. She asked, "What does Brittany's husband do?"
"I heard he's in finance. Lately, Ms. Dustin hasn't been coming to the studio as often, and we've seen less of Mr. Salter."
