The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 49

Grace seemed to have mellowed a bit, and she gestured for Sydney to sit down. "Sydney, have you had dinner yet?"

"Yeah, I did."

Actually, Sydney was here to snoop around.

"Isaac, I heard you got hitched, how come you didn't bring your wife to meet us?"

Sydney barely managed to say the word "wife," without a flash of humiliation in her eyes.

Isaac, his hand holding a cup, paused slightly, giving Sydney a sidelong glance.

"That's my business, none of yours."

He and Sydney weren't close at all, and he didn't need to explain anything to her.

Sydney's smile froze.

Grace cleared her throat. "That's just how Zac is, Sydney, don't take it personally."

Isaac didn't want to get entangled with her, so he found an excuse and left. Only Sydney and Grace were left in the yard.

"Grace, have you met my cousin's wife?"

"I have."

Speaking of this, Grace seemed quite interested. "She's a very pretty young girl."

Sydney was startled. Grace had such a good impression of Brittany? Could it be that Grace helped set them up?

"Grace, how did she meet Isaac?"

Grace smiled but didn't answer. Some things were not meant to be public.

"I don't know the details, but I'm quite pleased with this marriage."

Sydney was a bit upset. "But I heard that Ms. Dustin was accused of plagiarism, and she had offended the Field family--"

Upon hearing this, Grace's gentleness vanished in an instant.
