The Billionaire Who Stole My Heart novel Chapter 529

The news of William's hospitalization didn't stay under wraps for long. Mrs. Dillion showed up at the hospital first thing the next morning.

Brittany was jolted awake to find Mrs. Dillion shooting her a look of disapproval. "Ever since William met you, he's been having nothing but bad luck!"

Brittany was at a loss for words and could only manage a soft, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Dillion."

Mrs. Dillion was about to continue her tirade.

"Mom, enough already."

William, now awake, frowned at the disturbance.

Worrying that he might be in discomfort, Brittany walked over to his bedside and asked, "Are you feeling better? Does it still hurt?"

William shook his head and said, "I'm good. You slept on the couch last night; it must've been tough."

Mrs. Dillion rolled her eyes.

"I brought breakfast."

Mrs. Dillion handed over a thermal food container to Brittany. Opening it, Brittany found chicken porridge and some fancy pastries.

It was enough food to feed an army, probably meant to include her share as well.

"Thank you, Mrs. Dillion."

Mrs. Dillion wasn't exactly a fan of Brittany, but since William seemed so taken with her, she had to play nice.

All she responded with was a cold nod to Brittany's gratitude.

Brittany served William some porridge. He thanked her and urged her to eat more.

After Brittany had eaten her fill, she changed her clothes and was about to leave when Mrs. Dillion stopped her.

"William is really into you. All these years have passed, and you..."

"Mrs. Dillion, I know how much William cares for me. Once I settle my family matters, I will give him an answer."

Brittany was aware of Mrs. Dillion's concerns and gently said, "Thank you for not interfering with us."

Mrs. Dillion, looking into Brittany's clear eyes, felt a little uneasy, and she said, "I'm not against you. I just want my son to be happy."

"I understand. Thank you."

After Brittany left, Mrs. Dillion watched her retreating figure and began to seriously ponder.

Aside from being previously married, Brittany didn't seem to have any major flaws.

She could be a suitable daughter-in-law.
