"Kari, what are you doing here?" Brittany didn't expect to run into Kari at the restaurant.

"Just grabbing a bite with Nathan," Kari replied with a smile.

She hadn't expected to run into Brittany, either. She worried that Brittany might get the wrong idea about Nathan because of Isaac and start a feud with her.

Brittany turned her gaze to Nathan, who was standing not far away, her smile fading a bit.

She had a rough idea about what was going on between Kari and Nathan.

Nathan shot a grateful look at William, but to his surprise, Brittany took William's hand again and said, "William, there's no need to hide."

William looked at Brittany, his eyes wide with surprise.

"You and I are together now; there's nothing you can't hear."

Brittany tried to give William as much reassurance as she could.
