Carla was on the verge of tears. She covered her face and left. She exited the hospital room.

Mrs. Dillion saw her tear-streaked face and felt a pang in her heart. "Carla, don't be upset. William just broke up with his girlfriend. He might still be reeling."

Mrs. Dillion guided Carla to the window. "I've seen how much you care for William all these years. He will realize how good you are. Just give him some more time."

Carla's eyes were red and swollen, but she knew William was not the kind to be moved easily. He would never fall for her.
