Isaac and Hannah didn't have much overlap, but he knew she was a chatterbox. Whether she could really keep a secret, that was still up in the air. Was he going to agree to her terms?

"Spit it out."

"If Brittany's in a pinch, I want you to have her back."

Hannah knew she didn't have the pull or influence of the Salter family. She couldn't protect Brittany. But Isaac could, of all the people in Imperial City, he was the only one with the chops for it.

"Brittany didn't do anything wron. Including the plagiarism charge from three years ago, it was all a big misunderstanding."

Isaac thought Hannah would ask for more, like promising her some perks. But he didn't expect her only request to be about protecting Brittany.

"Any other conditions?"

"Nope."

After his agreement, Hannah sighed in relief but was also a bit suspicious. After a moment of thought, she overcame her fear of Isaac, warning him, "Mr. Salter, I'll let today's incident slide, but if I find out you're messing with Brittany, I'll do whatever it takes to get her out of there."

"I promise."

After Hannah left, Isaac went back to the ward.

Nathan was waiting for him outside the door, "Mr. Salter, Ms. Dustin was accused of plagiarism, and because of this, she was forced into the Dustin family, becoming their shadow creator for three years. This was all in the files I gave you, didn't you read them?"

Isaac was only concerned about whether Brittany had ulterior motives and didn't give a hoot about this. Hearing this now, he regretted it a bit. If he had known earlier, things might not have escalated to this point.
